How I bought Second Channel Car, Taking over three months looking for what we need after considering proper rear wheel drive Sports Sedan and what we need a car for and all necessary reasons.

After all we have been looking for a sports car but a rear wheel drive Germany machine, a car that will bring fun n easy to drive n comfortable enough for a long travel from on province to another basically a car that can drive over 3000km in one day without getting tired and a car that will bring aura to your Channel

We started by selling our first budget Channel car looking for better offer from multiple dealerships until we get the best offer for both trade in and a new channel car deal and started with quotation at five dealership and also dealer network after we choose the lowest one and start with the process of car loan application.

Always take your time looking at the quotation and all additional cost after car loan application also carefully check the podium if it is exactly corresponding with all numbers on the quotation. Always don’t forget to remove all unnecessary additional cost like car tracker, tint, fuel, and inhouse insurance if you don’t want them, lastly be free to ask anything you really don’t understand from quotation or podium before signing the deal.

Back in June 2025, BMW announced some changes to its XM line-up, saying the standard 480 kW version would fall away in South Africa to leave the 550 kW BMW XM Label as the sole derivative. Furthermore, this variant’s AC charging rate would be increased, while additional options would become available.

Now the updated XM Label has been added to BMW South Africa’s online configurator. Interestingly, pricing is unchanged from before, which means the Munich-based automaker’s most powerful road-legal derivative still starts at R3 650 000 (for the record, that’s R200 000 more than the standard variant, which is no longer listed on the local configurator).

So, what exactly has changed? Well, the updated XM Label’s maximum AC charging rate has been increased from 7.4- to 11 kW. Furthermore, BMW now offers “additional options” for customising the plug-in hybrid SUV’s exterior and interior.

As a reminder, the XM Label generates 550 kW and 1 000 Nm courtesy of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) system built around a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine. This allows the SUV to complete the obligatory 0-100 kph sprint in a claimed 3.8 seconds. In some markets, top speed is electronically limited to 250 kph, but since the M Driver’s Package is standard locally, this rises to 290 kph in SA.

Back in March 2024, the X-Rider badge officially returned to the Isuzu D-Max range in South Africa. Now, the Japanese brand has rolled out a limited-edition version called the D-Max X-Rider Black.

Of course, this name will be a familiar one to many local bakkie fans, with Isuzu having launched an X-Rider Black based on the previous-generation D-Max back in 2019. The 2025 iteration will again be built at the automaker’s Struandale factory in the Eastern Cape, though just 150 units will be produced (and spread across Mzansi and “other African markets”).

Every example will be numbered and come complete with a special plaque fitted to the left-side inner fender. Mimicking the X-Rider line-up on which it’s based, just 3 double-cab derivatives will be on offer. There is thus a 6-speed manual variant and a 6-speed automatic derivative, each in 4×2 guise, as well as a 4×4 automatic version. In each case, power comes from the standard 1.9-litre, 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine delivering 110 kW and 350 Nm.
