In 2014, sisters Ivy & Sophie, then teenagers, signed a major label record deal with Warner Music Nashville as duo Walker County. Fans around the world have followed as their sound and their spirits have evolved over the better part of a decade. From heartbreaks to true loves and county fairs to The Kelly Clarkson Show, the women of Walker County have grown into the future superstars they’ve always been destined to be. Sophie’s hard-driving rhythms on the drumkit and Ivy’s strutting, soulful vocals create a unique blend of country music that was inspired by the sounds of middle America they grew up on. Their blood-thick harmonies & inimitable verve continue to shine underneath maturing lyricism. The CMT Next Women of Country artists are practiced road warriors, opening for the likes of Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakam, Martina McBride, Old Dominion & more. 2023 will see the first of their newest music. “Mirror Mirror” is OUT NOW! It’s been a long time coming with this song. ✨❤️ The first time we played it on the road we were opening for @Wynonna and we got a standing ovation mid show. We knew that this song was special while we were writing it, and seeing it resonate with the crowd was just confirmation that this song needed to be released.
We’ve been playing it out for about 3 years now, so if you’ve seen us perform live, chances are you’ve heard this song. Watching women and men be brought to tears over these lyrics is the reason we do this - writing truth. We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of @lorettalynnoffical 💔 Loretta will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Not only did she inspire our music growing up, but she also was the first major artists to ever take us on the road with her. The kindness her and her family showed us will never be forgotten, and the advice shared will always be remembered. She is a TRUE icon. Rest in peace ❤️
