Hopkinson writes songs for people who still hum choruses days later and wonder how they got there. With a knack for blending classic influences with a modern polish, his music has found a home on playlists like Cinematic Pop Mix and Chilled Pop Hits—right between London Grammar and that one track you forgot to skip. The New York Times added him to their Springtime tunes. And so they should. He's right for that.
From early morning choir rehearsals in Sydney to late nights at LA’s Hotel Café, Hopkinson has seen it all: the DIY Album of the Year win (Strangers to Ourselves), collaborations with George Merrill (Whitney Houston) and Steve Wilmot (OneRepublic), and his recent work singing with Boy Meets Girl on The Wonderground, a song that’s as much heart as it is hook.
Now based in Melbourne, Hopkinson splits his time between making music, raising a family, and figuring out why the coffee tastes better when someone else makes it.
