Not Spending Enough Time on Thumbnails
If you're treating thumbnails as an afterthought, you're sabotaging your video before it even gets a chance. They’re the first thing people see—and sometimes the only thing.
Think of them like the cover of a book or the packaging on a shelf. Blurry screenshots or random freeze frames just don’t cut it.
A great thumbnail grabs attention, tells a story, and makes people want to click.
Here’s a general rule of thumb (pun fully intended): spend twice as long on your thumbnails as you currently do, and cut half the text, colours, and clutter. Most thumbnails are way too busy to understand in two seconds.
