New York native Caroline Bembia is the newly appointed principal harpist of the New York City Ballet. She has been praised by the New York Times for her “fine work” as a solo harpist and chamber musician. She has performed in concert halls all over North America, Europe, and Asia, and had her Alice Tully Hall debut in November 2012, where she performed the U.S. premier of Hilda Paredes' Demente Cuerda (2004) for harp and orchestra with the New Juilliard Ensemble. She has also appeared with the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera. Caroline received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the Juilliard School. She also received a Professional Studies certificate from the Manhattan School of Music in the studio of Mariko Anraku.
