Hola Familia!



Late post again this week! I chose to clean out the cobwebs in my brain and bones by going to the gym before I made this post. It's my safe space away from everything and I love doing my best to take care of myself. I REALLY needed it this morning.

- The title "Decided by Myself" feels like a song that I need this week. With all the changes happening around me in my work life, it makes me think of future decisions I might have to make. The Maids show up when I need them, I suppose. How lovely!

Stan Rogers & Unleash the Archers - Northwest Passage
- DOUBLE REACTION TIME! I was informed by Hebes that Stan Rogers was a Canadian folk singer and his song Northwest Passage is a beautiful song that showcases the beauty of a capella. Unleash the Archers did a cover years later with the music video exploring alternate paths in their lives if things were just a bit different. I love a capella singing and I really love Unleash The Archers sound, so...LET'S GO!

DIR EN GREY - Lotus
- I have been waiting for another suggestion for this band. I try my best to not do too much self-exploration so I don't ruin too much for me and honestly after starting reactions, I feel like I don't have time to hear everything all the time. Needless to say, I am excited! After reading what BigEarJimLynch sent me, I can see that he had to really dig deep to figure out what song to send me and after reading each type of song exists of DIR EN GREY, I am now more curious.


BAND-MAID - "The Roots of BAND-MAID; Miku's hometown Kunamoto"
- I see your comments, and this is becoming increasingly FUN! Next is the video from Ice Bear's channel (thank you Ice Bear!) of the Maids visiting Miku's hometown. I am excited to watch this this evening! It's raining that perfect amount to feel cozy and gloomy weather makes me feel calm. I am sure the Maids will make me lose my cool though. They honestly make me feel like my little heart is going to explode with "kawaii" energy!

- Not my favorite episode of the series, but ya know...that's how it goes sometimes, right? Reina is young, so I can understand her heart, but she's a kid. I am just going to say that her prefrontal cortex is not fully formed.


Rock is a Lady's Modesty, Ep. 11
- Lilisa and I share mutual feelings in this episode. Have you ever had someone call an activity that is your everything a "hobby." People don't mean to hurt my feelings when they say that my job "isn't a real job," or that it's just a "hobby." Sometimes you just have to smile and brush it off. Lilisa goes to shred. I love that for her!


K-ON!, Season 1, Ep. 6
- 3 words: Great concert. Pantsu...


It's rainy outside and I love the cozy vibes I get from the gloomy weather. I do hope your Labor Day weekend has clear skies so you can have a gathering or take a nice walk though. I cannot wait for fall weather! I just want it to cool off a bit. 😅

Hola Familia!

I apologize for the late post of what is coming tomorrow. What happened was I got home after teaching, ate a protein bar, went to the gym for my mile run and lower body workout, got home, ate dinner, and then crashed. I guess I didn't have the energy I thought I had yesterday! My schedule is starting to look pretty normal now, so I feel a little less stressed about the start of the school year now. Yay!

Well, this is "Awkward." Not really! I can see why I had an explosion of song titles happen in my discord when it first started. It's too fun not to participate! Anyway, I did a 4-way reaction over on my Patreon a while ago, so it's been a hot minute since I listened to this song. I cannot wait to revisit this song with a fresh perspective.

SUPER SENTAI - Boonboomger
- Look...the inner child in me was screaming when I saw the name "Super Sentai." Why, you ask? I LOVED Power Rangers when I was little. I dreamed of being the Pink or Yellow ranger and I wished I could be the Green Ranger's girlfriend. I am still looking for a dragonzord flute, but that's a discussion for another time. I am excited to check out this intro of SUPER SENTAI composed by Mashiro Takeda and performed by Masaaki Endoh!

Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas - Let Me Hear
- When I saw the name of the band, I immediately thought of the movie (that I've never seen) and was really confused. Turns out there's a Japanese band with the same name and it seems like it's hard to put a name on their style. I also love hearing that they are still active today! I can't wait to dive in.

BAND-MAID - Music Gold Rush Interview
- Reading the comments of the Kannai Devil Interviews, I saw many other suggestions for more interviews that I didn't know existed! This week we are watching the Gold Rush interview. I am excited to see what else the maids have to say! I see your suggestions and I am more than willing to watch and learn! Keep them coming!

- I love that Asuka acts mature for her age, but I'm glad that Kumiko does her best to show Asuka that it is okay for her to be the kid that wants to compete in Nationals. I won't spoil it, but most of you know why!

Rock is a Lady's Modesty, Ep. 10
- With the battle of the bands over, the girl's tempers flare but not because they didn't do so hot. It seems like this band is a match made in...heaven?

K-ON!, Season 1, Ep. 5
- I'm the advisor. I swear. The whole time I watched this episode I couldn't help but find a TON of similarities between her and I. I think this was my favorite episode so far. Hah!

I know I don't have to, but I apologize for videos where I am not "put together." Some days I get home after teaching and I can't bring myself to put on any makeup to record, so you're seeing me fresh from the warzone they call "the classroom." I know you all don't care because you are all so cool like that, but I can't help but feel bad that I didn't try that evening. Thank you all for being so kind and sweet to me!

Hola Familia!


My first week of school was extremely exhausting! If you have someone who teaches in your life, give them a cup of their favorite coffee or their favorite energy drink. The first week is rough. Getting used to your new schedule with new faces and new personalities can be a bit much at first. My first week back I was asked to teach after school beginning flute classes to give them a headstart before they got to work with their general band director. Being in a room with 25 excited eleven year olds was A LOT, but MY GOSH was it ADORABLE to see them so excited to make a sound on their headjoints.

- Here we are with "You." Koboto lyrics, BAND-MAID made with arranging done by Toshinari Ohnishi. Ohnishi worked on "The Non-Fiction Days," on the previous album from what I remember. I did a little research before listening to this song and apparently this song is about loving someone so strongly that you can't live without them. You guys...you know how much I love me a good love song! ESPECIALLY if it's rock!

Peter Gabriel - Slegdehammer
- I faintly remember hearing this name around the house when I was a little kid. The high school band I work with did a marching show with a selection from Peter Gabriel. Crazy, huh? I have only heard a cover of this song. Embarassingly enough when PANIC asked if I had heard this version of the song I basically said that I didn't know there was an original version. *Hides face* I know...I KNOW! Needless to say, I am excited to finally hear the real version!


MOS - ZIG ZAG
- I am SO HAPPY this was suggested to me! With all the great musical groups you guys suggest out there, it's easy for some to end up in a filing cabinet back in the depths of my brain just waiting to be dusted off. The Music Omotenashi Sisters are one of those! I did a reaction to them back in May of 2024 with their performance of "Il Vento d'Oro" from JoJo's Bizzare Adventure (which I still haven't seen yet...😅) and MAN, I was blown away. I am excited to check out ZIG ZAG, and apparently we have guest appearances from Wakezemon (East of Eden) and Mimori (Faulieu). Let's get it!


BAND-MAID - Kannai Devil interview 2020!
- It's bittersweet, but this is the last translated interview (that I know of). I am learning so much more about all the Maids from these interviews. Honestly, they are my kind of ladies. I have so much in common with them it HURTS. Ha! I wonder what questions they answered this time around!

- The battle of the bands is upon the newly formed band and things seem a tad rocky at first, but it seems like the ladies pull out an awesome performance after all!


NEW: K-ON!, Season 1, Ep. 4
- Training camp was more of a beach getaway vs a practice session. Poor Mio really wanted to get some practice done, but to her surprise Yui actually is getting better. It seems like Yui can play by ear! I was surprised!


I finished my first week of teaching by rounding it off with going to a GHOST concert last night. I had such a great time and got cute trinkets and such from Ghouls and Ghoulettes at the show! Ghost fans are sweet people. 💜 You'll see me in my merch while recording this weekend!

SCHOOL STARTS MONDAY! I feel like summer just started yesterday. I have made me schedule and boy...is it interesting. I know I said I was working on getting a laptop to work on my YouTube/Patreon while I was teaching, but I haven't bought one yet. I guess it's time! Have I mentioned I live 30 minutes away from where I actually teach?

The "Just Bring It" album is a great one so far. This album feels like the mark into their transition to solid hard rock. The next song we are going to listen to is "Time." Lyrics to this song are written by Miku but arranged by Hitoshi Okamoto. I am always curious what the Maids can do with other's compositional ideas, so let's goooooo!

King's X - Over My Head
- I am excited to jump back into the guitar greats journey! Ty Tabor is up next in the lineup in the band King's X. I am excited to hear what Ty's got because he may not be fast'n'furious or shreddy. Apparently he loves some dissonance, and boy lemme tell ya...I'm a FAN of crunchy dissonant sounds. Dissonance used to make me uncomfortable, but your world opens once you learn to lean into that crunch.

Charles Berthoud - Elevated
- I feel guilty about this one. The reason why is because I've seen many suggestions for Charles come across my regular reaction section on the Discord, but I avoided reacting because I felt like I was not in a place to react to him. I still feel like a noob when it comes to bass and since I played electric guitar for only 2 years with no proper education I feel lost in that land as well. I guess with my new adventure down the bass guitar hole, it's time to check him out. I guess this means I owe the it to all of you for a reaction on YouTube!

BAND-MAID - Kannai Devil interview 2018 & 2019!
- We are continuing the Kannai Devil interviews because they are interesting to see! These are videos I've seen snippets of but haven't had a chance to actually watch, but here we are! Thanks to @Rainman on YouTube for this joy! I am combining the 2018 with Miku and Kanami with the 2019 video because it isn't long. I cannot wait!!!

My brain is finally suffering from fatigue! Did you like that I forgot to name a video yesterday? I was mortified...

Week 2 of summer band has ended and we can now begin our competition show! Our shop is entitled "On Air" featuring music from Queen, The Buggles, Etta James, and classical composer Tchaikovsky. The idea is for it to sound like the radio in your car that most used to listen to music on long drives! Neat, huh? I am excited, but we've only just begun. The countdown to October begins!

- I had a great time last week with "Take Me Higher" especially with the Misa/Kanami battle! This week we move on to track 8 of the "Just Bring It" album. "So, What?" was composed and arranged by Goto (oooo! familiar name!) and lyrics are by Miwa Sasaki.

- I reacted to Show-Ya a long time ago and honestly, it's been too long. I LOVED how performative the musicians were in the video as well as the SHEER BEAUTY of all of the ladies. I didn't realize they still perform regularly! I am excited to dive into the different versions of "Fairy!"

- Vladimir Chupin commented on a previous BM video informing me about other interviews the maids have done. This was a nice little "carrot" that was dangled in front of me! I couldn't resist when I was given a little bit of info on what the maids do behind the scenes!

Keneko Ayano - Kibun
- This is the second time I have checked out this band. The first time was a lovely experience and this second time? It was totally worth it! This band has a way of creating a beautiful overall sound that not only creates a enjoyable listening experience, but also gives the listener a chance to explore their musical emotions. I hope you check this one out!



ゲスの極み乙女 (Gesu No Kiwami Otome) - オンナは変わる (Women Change)
- This group desribes themselves as a hip-hop/progressive band. I am not so sure about the hip-hop part, but MAN! This group is one to check it if you haven't heard them before. This is a band where each member stands out musically on their own. I know this is my first time reacting to them, but if all their music is like this, then I need to listen to them more often!



BAND-MAID, PRIME - [TALK] One-on-one talk, vol.3, "Akane + Saiki"/vol.4, "Kanami + Saiki"
- We listened to the first 2 volumes last time and I couldn't help myself this week with the next 2 talk videos. I love that they ask and talk about their musical experiences as well as how they ended up joining BAND-MAID. Their stories are short, sweet and cute, so I thank Ohrenje for the in depth documentaries!

Living Colour - Love Rears It's Ugly Head
- When I read the description of this reaction suggestion, I had to make sure that I was aware of thier most well known song, "Cult of Personality." I looked it up, and I found that I am somewhat familiar with the song. I am sure it's from wrestling, but I am not sure! Anyway, I am excited to check out another guitar great, Vernon Reid and the band Living Colour!


Mizuni Ukikusa (ミズニ ウキクサ) - Cinematic Romance (シネマティックロマンス)
- This will be the second time checking out Mizuni Ukikusa and I am not mad about it at all. I remember listening to "Cinderella" and feeling like this was the fine wine of alternative rock music. The instrumentals were GORGEOUS. I felt like I was sipping my hot coffee on the balcony of a cool afternoon thinking of life. It took me there. Needless to say, I can't wait to check out this newer release from them!


BAND-MAID, PRIME - [Talks] One-on-one talk vol.1 "KOBATO×SAIKI" & vol.2 "KANAMI×MISA"
- It's been interesting finally looking at a lot of the videos in the BMP collection. I am curious about what they talk about in these one-on-one talks. Everytime I login to the page I see these and I am curious, so I figured today would be the day to check them out together!

Sound! Euphonium, Season 2 - I'm glad the drama between Nozomi and Mizore could be resolved! Now...THE COMPETITION! It's time! Are we going to Nationals???

Girls Band Cry - I like episode 13. They knew they wouldn't sell as many tickets as Diamond Dust, but they went for it anyway and didn't meet the quota while Diamond Dust sold out. It's just the reality of a growing band against an established one, but even through all that they keep their heads up and give a great performance.

Rock is a Lady's Modesty - Episode 5...what can I say? This episode was NEEDED! I won't spoil it, but I am so happy this episode happened sooner than later!

Also, I was thinking of starting "K-ON" since it's on HIDIVE. Would that be a good anime to jump into?


What's your favorite drink of choice at the backyard BBQ? Is it a ice cold beer, cocktail? I'm curious of what you bring or gravitate to at a party!🍹🍺
