Serial Killers Documentaries

Hi, my name is Tudor and I'm a Romanian content creator. I make videos about serial killers and also about true crime in general (famous crime cases, mafia documentaries, and even spy videos from time to time). I upload once a week, on Monday, at 6 PM CST. All my videos are premieres, so if you can get there at 6PM CST on Monday, please introduce yourself and we'll have a little chat. It was nice meeting you, now let's watch some videos. Take care!

Serial Killers Documentaries

It's been a long time since I recommended a fellow True Crime YouTuber and today I have one. I've been watching Joshua Miles (youtube.com/@itsjoshuamiles) for a while when I was on vacation and I really enjoyed it. I really think some of you will enjoy the channel as well, so give it a try.

Is it just me, or are the red arrows in the thumbnails a thing of the past?

A while ago I clicked "do not recommend channel" on every video in my feed (with a few exceptions where it made sense) that contained arrows, red circles circling nothing in the image, and clickbait things like this. Also did the same with titles like "And then THIS happened", and videos where the title is a question. (Like "Is this the Rolex killer?" and translates into "No, it's not, it's a mediocre watch but I bought it for cheap or some friend gave it to me for a few hours and wanted to make a new video")

I don't know if the algorithm has something to do with it and stopped showing me videos like that, or people just decided that these practices don't work too well on YouTube anymore. Do you still get those?

P.S.: The creators didn't fix the "In this video..." showing snippets of the best part in the first few seconds to hook you. I basically look for that part and skip the whole video to get there and I'm done in like 40 seconds :)

Serial Killers Documentaries

You probably noticed my absence from premieres lately. I'm still here, just having a bad month, feeling the pressure of years of researching these cases and I decided to put some backup videos I had and rest for a while. I will post every week, but I won't be making new videos for a month or so (got like 10 backup videos ready, so you won't notice). The videos will probably be shorter, but I need a bit of time off from all these pedophiles, rapists, torture and death. See you in January, Happy holidays, and take care! GN from Romania!

Update on AdBlockers: It has begun! (wall of text below)

YouTube's plan to gain more Premium subscribers is working, apparently. Even if people misinterpret it as a backfire, it's actually working as intended.
When they started testing the pop-up messages on users, everyone panicked. "If they know I'm using an ad blocker, I have to find a better one!". And that's how the Adblock hopping started, people uninstalling their old ad blocker and finding better ones.
And now YouTube starts the Wack-A-Mole, hiring people to install the new versions, take them apart, see what's inside and kill it. And then a new one appears and people jump ship. YouTube follows and kills it as well. They can even sue some of the companies to deter the small ones from trying to create new versions.

But the better AdBlocker will survive. And have monopoly. When that happens, they will try to capitalize on the situation. I mean, you have 60 million users and you keep it free? No, you ask for $3.99, or $5.99. All the while, YouTube is still chasing and the Ad Blockers keep finding ways to go around that. You will experience brief interruptions in their service (the time between finds a way to block it and the adblocker finds a new way to make it work again).

And this will happen until you, the user, will come to the realization that between $5.99 and $13.99 it's only $8. And for $8 you get rid of that hassle, you get YouTube music as well, you get to use your YouTube app on your TV, you get background playback and you support the creators. Ah yes, if you didn't know, YouTube Premium users pay the creators when they watch a video. Adblockers don't.

I know it sounds like I'm defending YouTube, and I am...in a way, because I'm a creator and I would love more money from Premium users, since most of my videos are "unsuitable for most advertisers", for obvious reasons, and I don't get ad revenue, only Premium revenue.

So, at some point in the future, YouTube will probably force you to buy premium or watch ads. And adblockers will probably die a slow, painful death (just like my channel).

And yes, there will be ways to go around it, but that's for the tech-savvy people who know how to code and shit...there will be underground apps disguised as something else and people will share them privately to their loved ones with the condition that they don't tell anyone, or it won't work anymore. But for the majority of internet users, this will probably be the end of ad blockers as we know it.

So don't rush to join Premium just now, ad blockers still work, but mentally prepare yourself for it because it's definitely coming.

How do you feel about the new YouTube trend where all creators put a teaser from their video at the start to hook you in?
