We had a powerful POINT OF CONTACT service, where we were reminded of the divine HOLINESS that contrasts with religious holiness (peity), to wit:

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
 
And do not be conformed to this world (social norms and traditions), but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. [ROMANS 12:1-2]

Invoking the supernatural is a key intervention against the social norms and traditions that rage againsy the Divine Order.

Abandoning the command of God, you hold on to human tradition. [Mark 7:8]
