Hello friends! I present to you my new flying companion!
Almost two months ago I received these VR headset (Pico 4) and since then I have been trying to transition from the flat screen to them. At first it was very difficult for me, but I'm already quite used to it. The truth is that what they usually say is true: it seems like there's no going back once you get used to virtual reality!
Here are some advantages, already known, that I can confirm:
•Unparalleled immersion
•Greater situational awareness
•Easier to perform deflection shots
Here are some disadvantages, already known, that I can confirm:
•More difficult (impossible) to identify aircraft at a distance.
•More difficult to check the 6 o'clock position as you have to turn your head even more than in real life.
•In-flight chat is almost inaccessible.
On the other hand, it seems like my old i7 can't handle War Thunder in VR mode... I'll have to change it along with its motherboard and everything else. In the meantime, I'm experiencing lag and FPS drops in mid-flight, which really spoils the experience. However, I'm also getting used to it!
I would also like to start this stage of the channel with the following video, which is also, in some way, a small tribute to IdahoBookworm, a pilot I respect a lot. He, along with many others, has represented a challenge for me that has demanded, and continues to demand, that I surpass myself.

Hace casi dos meses me llegaron estos lentes VR (Pico 4) y desde entonces he estado tratando de hacer la transición desde el monitor hacia ellos. Al principio me costo mucho pero ya estoy bastante acostumbrado. La verdad que es cierto lo que suelen decir ¡parece que no hay vuelta atrás una vez que te acostumbras a la realidad virtual!
Algunas ventajas, ya conocidas, que puedo confirmar:
•Una inmersión incomparable
•Una conciencia situacional mayor
•Disparos con deflexión más fáciles de realizar
Algunas desventajas, ya conocidas, que puedo confirmar:
•Más difícil (imposible) identificar aviones a la distancia.
•Más difícil de verificar las 6 ya que hay que girar la cabeza aún más que en la vida real.
•Chat en vuelo casi inaccesible.
Por otro lado, parece que mi viejo i7 no puede lidiar con War Thunder en modo VR... Voy a tener que cambiarlo junto con su placa madre y todo lo demás. Mientras tanto, estoy experimentando un lag, en vuelo, que empaña bastante la experiencia. No obstante, también me estoy acostumbrando a eso!
También, quisiera iniciar esta etapa del canal con el siguiente video, el cual también es, en alguna medida, un pequeño homenaje a IdahoBookworm, un piloto al que respeto mucho, quién, junto a muchos otros, ha representado para mí un desafío que me ha exigido, y me exige, superarme a mi mismo.
