As promised in the Ñuu Dzaui writing video, the month's ad revenue just went out to the Mixteco Organizing Project (mixteco.org/)
For reasons shared there (and through their radio station if you happen to understand Spanish and can pick up a little Mixtec along the way), it's a critical time to support the agriculturalists at the start of the animation, and all migrant communities, and to pass along words that give context to what little most of us usually hear of their experiences. More links in my previous post ⬇
I'm working on a video about pictorial manuscripts and their modern linguistic connections in southern Mexico. My channel tries not to be US-centric, but these communities have a lot of cross-border ties and are preparing to endure an uncertain future. The people could use your support and understanding ~ mixteco.org/ borderkindness.org/ www.raicestexas.org/
(I'm not gone; my last video was a patron special while I pursue this larger project.) If you could use words of personal support from a language-and-culture-tube-animator, for whatever they're worth, read my recent post: www.patreon.com/posts/116137067/

Learning about languages, I find myself bumping into stories that echo linguist David Crystal's words: "Language is people" Right now some of our fellow humans' plights feel weighty. If you can spare time or donations, follow these links with me.
1 million subscribers! Just watched the number tick over, all thanks to you lovely, thoughtful people who've stood alongside me in awe of this world of languages and cultures. Celebrating you with a brief look back over this channel's ten-plus years ~ www.patreon.com/posts/77559853
During this moment, here are voices sharing African and African diaspora linguistics. May this counter silence and hostility but not distract from the struggle️. Stay safe, be well. docs.google.com/document/d/1gbsoD71MNajMJFncLzZjz4…
Launched a video today, and noticed many past community translations that are "in review". I am reviewing them and accepting them now! You deserve much thanks if you contributed subtitles, and my apologies for the delay.
Happy 2019! I'm stepping away during the first part of the year to catch up on life. In the meantime, I did some art and writing about the Altaic controversy for you to enjoy - www.patreon.com/posts/23605451
