Sappho Women is a non-profit organisation based in Skala Eressos, Lesvos, Greece. Our work supports women’s wellbeing, inclusion, and community connection through cultural exchange, learning, and long-term programmes.

We deliver the International Eressos Women’s Festival, held annually in September in the birthplace of the poet Sappho. Since 2000, the festival has brought together women from around the world in a safe and welcoming environment rooted in lesbian culture and inclusive of the broader LGBTQ+ community.

The festival programme includes workshops, talks, creative activities, live performances, nature walks, sports events, and shared experiences that foster connection, participation, and friendship.
