ok rant time!! Spoilers for stranger things season 5

will getting powers was like cool innit, but… also disappointing. For a few reasons.

One - It didn’t have any emotional impact. At least, not to me. I WISHHHH that Mike wasn’t such a big part of will AND el’s characters. Instead, Will and el should’ve revolved around each other. not blood related, but through their shared experience alone and being autistic as fuck they are siblings. I want to see more of their bond that doesn’t revolve around a love triangle. Will and el should understand eachother like no one else, he is what she thought Henry was. She was the one who knew where he was in season 1. So for him to finally get his powers when his bond with el is only getting stronger would’ve been way more impactful than just being driven by romantic love

Two - where the fuck are the fireballs. Bro every single goddamn hint to will getting powers was about FIREBALLS. “Oh yh will what you gonna cast?” “Fireball.” “Oh hey will my son what did you draw?” “Fireball” “oh will what inspires you” “fireball” do you get my point
Like kali had different powers to el, why can’t will have pyrokinesis. Not to mention FIRE is the upside downs literal weakness like everything in there despises heat.

now this is a more unpopular opinion but I’m GLAD that they brought back eight. While the writing for the eight arc was certainly rocky in season 2, it’s shitty to just retcon that out. I feel like it’s a lot more satisfying to know that she’s back and is going to have a lot more combat capabilities now. I just hope they dont screw her up a second time.

Ok also why is Steve being such a jackass to Dustin. Like that’s NOT my Steve, if anything he would be deeply concerned that Dustin looks like he got his face beaten in. If Dustin is missing for an hour, maybe everyone should be more concerned and not just ‘oh he’s late!!’ Bro

Also Henry seems like some sort of thanos to me. Like he has a “good” ulterior motive to reshape the world into the perfect world but his perception of good is twisted so literally everything he’s doing is pure evil

Also my theory is that
Henry and vecna are kind of separate. It’s like William afton and the mimic. Vecna is the mimic, full of Henry’s pure hatred and rage when he first came to the upside down and basically died

Also I still don’t like hopper x Joyce
