I am a scientist with the Australian Institute of Marine Science in Perth, Australia. I am passionate about the marine environment, especially coral reefs. As a geographer, I help marine biologists make sense of their field data by using spatial modelling to 'fill in the blanks' about what is there in between places we've been able to look directly. I also model the effect of disturbances like cyclone waves on coral reefs to help understand how we can prioritize which reefs to spend the most effort trying to protect as the climate warms.
