Draugaskógur (Serbia) surprises everyone with their excellent debut album. Raw Atmospheric Black Metal for fans of BURZUM, EVILFEAST, PAYSAGE D'HIVER... Lengthy songs with large doses of synthesizer that create a dark, melancholic, and evocative atmosphere. The vinyl version includes an exclusive 8-minute bonus track, resulting in a 32-minute release that feels somewhat short due to the quality of all the compositions.

THARMAZEGETHUZAN "Beasts of Black Smoke" LP [SORCERY-083]

With "Beasts of Black Smoke," Tharmazegethuzan (now a four-piece band) redefines their style, sacrificing the dark-ambient parts to shape a new, aberrant creature of cavernous, primitive, and aggressive raw black metal, while maintaining the occult theme. This new EP is an excellent, almost half-hour work with a menacing and ghostly atmosphere. Without a doubt, this sonic transition represents a more accessible art form, although the music remains necro-driven, a delight for lovers of the most eerie black metal.

In the sulphurous depths of American blackened death metal, the split “Hails to the Coming Age of Barbarism” rises like a primal invocation to desecration and fury. Here, the two entities join forces not as collaborators, but as kindred beasts, each exhaling their own stench of ruin into the shared void , breathing with the warmth of decaying soil and the violence of untamed flame. Guitars spit in abrasive unison, their cursing tone and unyielding, while the drums pound with ritualistic fervour, echoing the tribal heart of something ancient and unmerciful.

The soundscape carries the blasphemous intent of acts such as Demoncy, Profanatica, or the filth of Blasphemy’s earliest scourges. Yet there is a distinctive ferocity, an ardent ecstatic sense of destruction, of a darkness that liberates, and does not consume. It is barbarism not as regression, but as transcendence.

From the shadows of the Ecuadorian underground, Fulgorious arrives with its debuting demo steeped in the cold breath of second wave orthodoxy, carrying the black flame of not as a mere imitation but as an act of fierce devotion. “Total Black Metal Cult” sounds as though it was conjured beneath a midnight sky torn by liturgical fervour, where riffs chant as blackened psalms of a forsaken monastery and the drums march as if to signal the fall of dawn itself.
