This channel is for me to upload random clips of games that I like and want to share it with others, or just find it plain funny.

So I totally missed out on this, but apparently March 4th this year marks the 25th anniversary of the game Kessen, a real time strategy developed by Koei that depicts the fateful battle of Sekigahara and its aftermath.

Although not exactly one of Koei's most well known title, the game was favorably received by players and critic, and almost won the award of Best Strategy Game by Gamespot, only losing to Battle Orge 64.

I now know what I'm gonna do within the next month or two.

Wha...!? The Ravages of Time manhua will have a collaboration with ROTK8 Remake.

The devs tease that the contents will involve the protagonists of the manhua, Liaoyuan Huo (Zhao Yun) and Sima Yi. More details about the collaboration will be announced soon.

Probably just the two characters being added as playable officers, but still that was unexpected.

So apparently Chinese modders have been able to find fully playable Lu Bu within the demo. Meaning he is either a hidden 10th companion and Halberd is also usable later in the game, or he is going to be DLC...

Gan Ning's new look in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. His new design looks like a mix of DW9 and ROTK13 design.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins now has a locked in release date of January 17th, 2025! That's a lot earlier than I thought!

There's a new ChinaJoy's 13-minute gameplay clip for Dynasty Warriors: Origins. It's awesome, please go check it out!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGhfR...

I want to do a video gushing over it so bad, but I'm having a cold and the quality of the record from the livestream isn't the best anyway, so I'll settle with a community post...

+ Holy sh!t! The arrangements of Eve and Wall of Fate from DW4 are awesome! I was so worried about the series dropping its iconic rock style for its OST.
+ The overworld looks so good!
+ Actual level design! We are so freakin' back!
+ Actual morale system! The enemy is also freakin' agressive too!
+ You now actually advance and fight together with your allies!
+ The dev says that the combat would now require careful guarding and dodging. What is this, the Dark Souls of Dynasty Warriors?!

Also there's an interview with 4gamer that has more infos not presented in the gameplay footage:
https://www.4gamer.net/games/804/G080402/20240718028/

Some highlights:

- The man in yellow robe (second image of this post) is Zhang Jiao
- Some of the devs wanted this to be DW10, but since the goal was to go back the series root, and there's a thinking that a new numbered title must add new characters, so they went with Origins instead.
- Clarifying more about returning to its root, the producer said that the series was first and foremost a Tactical Action game, but starting with DW7, it has focused more on the 1vs 1000 Action. And with Origins, the devs want to back to when the enemies have lots of threatening soldiers and officers (FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT!)
- The story will be more in-depth, so even those who aren't familiar with the Three Kingdoms can still enjoy (wasn't it always been like this though?)
- The producer mentioned the Sangokushi novel by Yoshikawa EIji stopped after Zhuge Liang's death at Wu Zhang Plains because the author no longer want to write more after that, so RIP to the Jin characters, I guess (translation makes it sound kinda harsh, but that's kinda the gist of it)
- Some characters will change appearance depending on their ages, or their ranks.
- The player can name the protagonist, but his gender and appearance are locked. There are also currently no plan to have different costumes for the protagonist.
- The game doesn't use the Flow Combat from DW9, but utilizes the system similar to the old Charge system, but the charge strings aren't rigid like C2 is a juggle attack, and C3 is a stun attack, ....
- The game isn't Open World (Thank heaven!)
- Depending on the battle, the protagonist may swap out with other officers at certain time.

I wasn't sold on the announcement trailer, but I am so hyped after all this! DW truly is back with a vengeance!

I'm a few days late, but Dengeki Online has an interview with Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake, and I thought I'd share some interesting tidbits it had:

- The devs can't go into details regarding the game's delay, but the delay was the result of the devs not just simply remaking ROTKVIII and the amount of new stuff added resulted in a longer dev time than expected.
- The number of scenarios is based on the original ROTK8 (55 scenarios) and the number of officers is based on ROTK14 (1000)
- Aside from the general skill list from the original ROTK8, each officer now has unique trait to them. For example, Cao Cao has the Great Hero trait that gives him 1 more Strategy Point and allow him to act more compared to others.
- The Remake will have biggest number of event the series has ever seen: more than 450 events. For comparison, ROTK13 had 340 events, and the recent Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening has 380.
- The events play out similar to ROTK14: When the conditions are satisfied, you can choose to trigger the event from the event list, or just ignore it completely if you so wanted.
- Has hypothetical event branches in addition to historical events (This was already in the original ROTK8 but they probably will expand more on this in the Remake)
- No plan for Season Passes like ROTK14, but they do plan to have difficulty DLCs, or another Scenario Contest for potential future DLCs.
- The devs are aware that 2025 is the series' 40th anniversary, but due to everyone being busy with 8 Remake, ROTK15 probably will have to wait for a few more years.

Anyone interest in a very surface-level retrospective of the Ishin no Arashi series?

This post is to see if I should take it easy and wait for Rise of the Rōnin's release or not.
