Hello YouTube friends :)

I tried my first attempt at releasing a song via DistroKid a few days ago. The song's called "The Story of Us," and you can listen to the song on most major streaming platforms (YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, etc.). I've also been creating some yoga videos using my own song as background music, so you can hear it in those videos as well. Hehe.

It's been a fun, learning process, and I hope to be able to continue working on my music and experimenting, having fun and growing as a musician and artist in the process. There's still much to be learnt and practiced and improved upon and discovered. And I look forward to it all.

Koco - the artist name/persona I released the single under, is the name I had from 5th grade until the end of high-school (my brothers still call me Koco :)). I was a really bright and confident young girl then, and it is in the spirit of young Koco that I want to continue my music journey. The first song I wrote/composed/performed, actually, was when I was Koco. In the 9th grade (wow. about 21 years ago!).

7 Years - the album name, is a theme that's been on my mind. Mainly, it was 7 years ago when I took some first steps to relatively proactively and quasi-independently start writing music. I had started to hear songs in my dreams and wanted to express them in real life somehow (though this was not the first time I'd considered a path in music - long story for another time ;)). 7 years is also known as the average number of years it takes cells to regenerate. And I feel like all I've been doing throughout my life is going through phases of growth and death and growth and death (metaphorically and I guess cellularly speaking 😅). And, actually, just in the above paragraph, I realized 21 years is divisible by 7 😮🤯😆.

The Story of Us - the title of this song, is ... well, maybe too much explanation is no fun 😆 I like to keep creative expression and interpretation subjective..maybe at a later time, when I feel inspired, I can share more about the song itself (though I feel that the lyrics may provide enough context...) :).

I hope you have a chance to listen, and maybe some of you will like it, while for others of you, it may not be your cup of tea (one my brothers already flat out told me he's not into this type of music lol - I can respect that 😆🙏).

I realized how much courage it takes to "put your stuff out there" as I released this single, but I'm happy I did it and I can't wait to "put more of my stuff out there" in coming months.
