Founded in 1985, the Council of Canadians is Canada's largest citizens' organization. We unite people from coast-to-coast to take action for a better Canada and a better world. We develop creative campaigns that put some of the country's most important issues in the spotlight. We work with a network of more than 70 volunteer chapters to promote progressive policies to protect water, public health care and democracy, demand trade and climate justice, and to speak out on other issues of social and economic concern to Canadians.
The Council of Canadians does not accept money from corporations or governments and is sustained entirely by the volunteer energy and generous financial assistance of its members.
