Major studios are shelling out original movies this year, but they're flopping (With Sinners being the exception).
Suddenly, the "Hollywood is dead, no originals" crowd changed their tune to "The originals have to be good".
1. Originals like Companion, Novacaine, Drop got good ratings.
2. Don't change the goal post, motherfuckers. YOU wanted ORIGINAL movies, not GOOD. Here they are. You're literally the one moving away from them because you've decided they're riskier. Well, that's the risk of original movies.
What's your idea of "good" anyway? Minecraft? Another Jurassic Park spinoff-sequel? The crap, soulless IP-driven shlocks you've condemned?

Just had a talk with my cousin. He suggested that Tom Cruise should've been cast as Odysseus in Nolan's Oddysey instead of Matt Damon. Now I can't get that out my head.
Cruise is not only more age-appropriate, he's also more physically capable. And the fans both of these guys always wanted this... these two guys have preferences for practical effects and the big screen over streamings.
Yeah, it's still a very American/Hollywood based casting, but if Nolan's gonna do that anyway, why not all out, right?
That said, Cruise would have some control over the project and Nolan wouldn't want that.

Yanks and Canadians be critical on Brad Pitt's "Irish" accent in Snatch because it's incomprehensible when...
1. His character wasn't even Irish. He's Pikey. This is directly stated in the movie. "It's not English. It's not Irish. It's just Pikey".
2. All the other Pikey characters speak in the exact same way and no other characters understand them. This is literally one of the running gags.
3. Actual Irish people understands it.
