Kazoo, an instrument from the mirliton family, aka onion flutes, produces sounds when a person sings or speaks into the wax membrane. The vibrating wax membrane alters the voice into a duck-like voice with a nasal tone.
The invention of the kazoo is a joint effort by Alabama Vest, an enslaved person residing in Macon, Georgia, and Thaddeus Von Clegg, a German clock manufacturer in 1840s.
The kazoo family now includes the standard soprano kazoo, alto kazoo (15 centimeters), tenor kazoo (30 centimeters), and Kaboom Kazoo — the largest model (90 centimeters).
5 Songs featuring the kazoo: “When I Get to Heaven” – John Prine “Corporal Clegg” – Pink Floyd “Cool, Calm And Collected” – The Rolling Stones “Jugband Blues” – Pink Floyd “Crosstown Traffic” – Jimi Hendrix . . . #musically#facts#manasiagarwal#kazoo
#Fact03: 'न रहेगा बाँस न बजेगी बाँसुरी (Na rahega baans, na bajegi bansuri)' is a popular idiom. However, bamboo was not the original material with which flutes were crafted. The flute is said to have originated in pre-historical times. As with any other human and nature association at that point in time, musical instruments were also made out of objects found around the habitat of our pre-historical ancestors. No one country has been attributed with the discovery of the modern-day flutes, it all happened parallelly in Egypt, Israel, China, India, and Greece as suggested by archeological support.
#Fact02: The modern day Hawaiin Ukulele is an adaptation of the Machete which was originally developed and used in the Madeira Island of Portugal. Once this adaptation was made, the Hawaiians started to use their native wood, Koa, adjusted the tuning, transformed the machete into present day ukuleles.
