I have a bit of a sad update. For those of you wondering if I’m still planning on finishing Super Mario and the Great Flood this year, or at all, the short answer is probably not, sadly.

The long answer, is that I’ve just been losing interest in spending so much time making things that more likely than not, only a few people will see and play, if any at all. The truth is things like games, even if not built from the ground up (like an SMBX episode) take hundreds of hours of designing and testing regardless, and that’s time I just can’t justify spending right now.

To be honest, I started a few other episodes to see if maybe I needed a more unified theme to keep me going, but the same problem persisted of just feeling like things were moving too slow for what it was. Heck, I even tried out Super Mario World hacking to start with something fresh, but it still feels like it would take me way too long to learn how to do, let alone make something good. If I had only gotten into these things earlier in my life, then maybe I could’ve actually finished something good by now.

When it comes to game design, as much as I would have loved to make a Mario game, I think if I’m going to make a big time commitment, I’d rather make something of my own, from scratch, and I’d prefer to do it with a team of people. Solo developing is just too daunting to me. I’m still gonna hold on to my SMBX projects in case my interest is sparked again. Just don’t expect anything right now. But maybe Nintendo will come out with Mario Maker 3 or something and it will revive my creative juices.

Sorry to dump all of this on you. Just wanted to be forthright about all of this, as it does relate to this channel as a whole and how I’ve been feeling. I need to ask you, the viewers, what kind of content you would like to see, so I know how to best spend my time. This channel is only one of several hobbies I have, so I want to make things where I feel like I’m getting the most out of my time with them. Are you looking for YTPs? Music compositions and covers? Happy Easter! For those who celebrate, I hope you enjoy your festivities and time with friends and family today!

I don’t tend to delve too much into my personal and religious life on my channel, but this Easter has been particularly meaningful to me. I hope that this might give you some peace if you’re struggling in any way. My family lost my grandfather on Friday, who I was really close with. It’s always difficult to lose loved ones, but we can take comfort knowing that they’re free from pain and illness and reunited with loved ones who’ve since passed. And for me, I know that we’ll be able to see my grandpa again, because Jesus rose from the dead so that one day we can all do the same.

For Christians and other people of faith who believe in life after death, these are more than just nice sentiments to help us cope with loss, they’re reality - something that we can actually have faith in, something that can transcend the pain and sorrow of death, something that expands our limited understanding of mortality, and gives us knowledge that it truly is not permanent.

“O death⁠, where is thy sting? O grave⁠, where is thy victory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55)

Once again, happy Easter! More uploads will be coming hopefully soon. I’ve been working on my Super Mario Bros. X projects with most of my free time lately, but I do have some ideas for videos that I’d love to make! Take care, everyone!

A CRAZY Nintendo Switch 2 GAME LEAK has surfaced, one day ahead of the Direct!! Balatro x Luigi's Casino, a crossover between Balatro and the casino minigames from Super Mario 64 DS/New Super Mario Bros. was briefly on Nintendo's website, advertised as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. I keep forgetting to post about it, but about a month ago I got to check out the Nintendo store in NYC. It was pretty cool- I got a sweet Metroid Fusion shirt (which is awesome because I never see Metroid stuff anywhere), got to meet Mario through an interactive screen, posed in front of Bowser, and saw a display of all the different Nintendo consoles and handhelds. Definitely check it out if you’re ever in the city! (And keep an eye out for hidden Pikmin!)

ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE SUPER MARIO AND THE GREAT FLOOD DEMO:
In my most recent video, I mentioned that the demo would probably be released a few days before Christmas. However, things are getting pretty busy for me with school, and once I go home later next week, I'll be spending time with family, helping them get ready for holiday celebrations, shopping for Christmas gifts, all that fun stuff. So, I don't think I'll have it ready by then, but I'm still planning on releasing whatever I have finished before the year is out. Consider it a slightly late Christmas gift from me!

The good news, however, is that I've been working on a couple of holiday-themed YTPs that should be out before Christmas if everything goes well! Also, I'm in the process of revamping my channel a bit so I can upload short-form comedic videos more frequently, while I work on the bigger stuff. Expect a video announcement around New Year's to hear about my plans for the channel in 2025 and beyond.
