Just a small note regarding ads: From May 12th onwards, YouTube changes its ad policy and pushes more automatic ads. While I retain some control still, you may or may not see more ads in videos going forward, including old ones.
The way it works now is that I can tell YouTube where I RECOMMEND ads. This does not mean one will play. A one-hour video of mine typically only has 2 ad slots placed by me, which are usually placed in natural break points like when the character is sleeping. These may not even trigger, which is why I often get comments like "Thank you for being ad free". My channel isn't ad free per se, just very limited on where I recommend ads. I like doing this manually, because I think its much better for me to suggest a good ad break, rather than YouTube putting an ad mid-action or mid-sentence somewhere, which is disruptive.
An ad will always play when the video is starting, unless you just saw an ad in a different video, but mid-video I retain some control over where an ad should play, if one plays at all. From May 12th, YouTube starts more automatic ads. You may not notice any difference, because the system still refrains from playing ads if the AI determines that it isn't suitable... but if you DO notice anything, just know that from my end I am trying what I can to reduce ads in the videos. It's just that my control is limited to suggestions and manual removal of automatic placements... as I understand it anyway.
PS: If you didn't know, videos shorter than 8 minutes will never have ads in the middle of the video. It's a YouTube policy. So, you know, I COULD have extended my "5 Rules" video by 30 seconds to get more ads, but... why? For me, immersion is important, so I try to have as few ads as possible. The ad revenue I get really helps the channel and my family, but I am not interested in having them at the expense of quality or immersion. Similarly, on Twitch I have ads disabled completely, though these days I very rarely stream.
Hope this was helpful. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello fellow survivors!
A Campfire Chat is coming. It has been recorded and some basic editing done. I just need to wrap it up and then it is out once ready. I was hoping to release it this week, but since I dont know exactly when it will be wrapped up, I am releasing Kegstand Part 4 in the meantime :)

Hoping to make a Campfire Chat soon. I say hope because I started making a Hotfix 3 video when that came out, but never got around to wrapping it up. But hoping next week.

Hello fellow survivors!
The next episode of Road to 500 Days will be out today, and it marks the halfway point - or 250 days. Its been a journey, you could say.
Because it is a milestone, the episode will have a live premiere around 8.30 CET. The episode is fairly light, mostly a walkabout with reflection and talking, as we head for a specific destination.

The ad revenue from the video (for April) will be donated to the My Cancer My Choices fundraiser organized by Ross. If you missed it, read more about it here:

Hello fellow survivors
Today I wanted to bring your attention to a cancer charity event that impacts my family. My Cancer My Choices is a UK therapy charity that provides free services for those with cancer, trying to give some relief from their pain.
A few years ago, my wife's cousin Ross married the love of his life, Sam. They had two wonderful boys together, but were shortly thereafter hit with the devastating news: Sam had a very aggressive form of breast cancer. It is hard to imagine how difficult it must have been for them, with two small boys and a young mother with cancer. Sam's treatment is ongoing, but the My Cancer My Choices provides an additional service to help her through this tough time. Since the service was founded in 2015, they have helped over 2.000 cancer patients. To quote: "From managing the relentless pain of peripheral neuropathy to easing anxiety and sleeplessness, their services are designed to improve quality of life during the most challenging of times."
Now, the husband Ross is doing a fundraiser with the aim to reach £10.000 ($13k), which will provide My Cancer My Choices with the means to give 30 more patients the same care Sam received. In return, Ross and some friends are going to do a 12-hour long football (soccer) match in June.
I am posting this here in case any of you wish to support this charity that helps people with cancer. Any donation, no matter how small, can make a difference for someone's family. See below for the fundraiser link:

My family has already donated, but this weekend I am releasing the "250 days" Road to 500 Days episode, and plan to donate all the ad revenue from the video the charity. Stay tuned (probably premiere it tomorrow)
