as we start 2026, and as I look at the future or the kind of content I want to make, I have a question for those who watch the channel

a friend sent me a video from WolfeyVGC about growing an already established youtube channel, and in it, something he said was something along the lines of "you have to know why people watch you, what separates you from other channels in your niche"

i thought that was a great question! to me, my answer is "video essay guy". but i wanted to come here and ask, why DO you watch my channel? what do you think separates me from other anime channels, or people of similar niches?

Toho finally responded to my Retrospective Act 2 appeal. Of course, in typical Japanese production company fashion, if they have a 30 day deadline, they will respond on day 29. They ruled that it was still copyright infringement! Because they don't actually care about anything at all besides destroying things!

I didn't want the video to be gone forever. It just wasn't an option to me. So, I looked at what they arbitrarily decided was copyright infringement, and decided it wasn't substantial enough to justify losing the other hour and 15 minutes. So, I just used YouTube's built in video editor to trim out the parts they didn't like so the video can go back up.

3 weeks ago, MHA Retrospective Act 2 was unfairly taken down. I filed a dispute, to which in typical Japanese production company fashion, they have not replied. Now, almost a month afterwards, they are spinning back around to go after more of it. MHA Retrospective Act 3 has been taken down for an indeterminate amount of time.
