Hey Everyone! MTG Jeff is now 4 years old!!!

People have been asking for an update and here it is.

I am still learning how to navigate burnout. That mixed with a change of life goals and desired lifestyle are the main factors going into my current drought of videos.

The MTG Jeff Channel is something I have to do on top of a stable lifestyle. After 4 years of trying I've found that the channel is just barely not enough for us to grow at the rate our goals and desired lifestyle require.

This is NOT me asking for a handout. I'm already blown away by all of your generosity. This is me letting you know that our priorities are shifting. That shift is causing lots of turbulence, but not a shut down of the channel.

We simply need to reestablish stability that fits our aspirations and then MTG Jeff will hopefully fit nice and neatly on top of that foundation.

I don't really have a timeframe for you when the turbulent phase will end, but I hope you guys can feel where my intentions are. (Navigate burnout, reprioritize, recommit).

Posting videos while going through that process only adds to the stress and so I keep putting them off. That is unfair to you guys, but it truly is what I'm needing right now.

Hey everyone!

Thank you to all of you who have been sticking around through all of my "inconsistency" with posting lately. I just wanted to make sure you all know that I'm still here, but in the process of healing.

Vulnerability has been a huge issue for me. Everything I've gotten and loved in life came from me putting myself out the and being vulnerable. However, I've been wounded because of that constant vulnerability. It has been very hard trying to heal and also try to be vulnerable by posting daily at the same time. I am taking the steps to take care of myself, I just hate that posting less is one of the those steps.

While I need to stop being vulnerable and open so often I also love transparency, It's a big part of who I am. I don't want that to change. So with that in mind I'll tell you my (current) plans.

Thanks to all of you I've been able to make MTG Jeff my full time income for 2 years now. It never made tons of money, but it was enough to get us by and be a huge help through the hell scape of 2020-22. Now that our youngest is nearly 2 and requires a bit less attention we are able to get back to 2 sources of income with our family.

My wife is looking for remote work (let me know if you know of any openings, she is a boss). With a second source of income I can make the channel about fun again rather than focusing on just making more money.

My hope is that over the next "while" (6m-1yr) I can post 3-5 videos a week while I take time to heal. I'm a little burnt on magic, but I still absolutely love it. So I'll still be posting plenty of MTG content. I'm hoping that with a little bit of a break from daily MTG I can reduce the burn out and also give myself some brain space for other content.
I've actually created nearly 20 videos of other content that I didn't feel able to post because I felt I was being too vulnerable. (Would they like it, would they be angry it wasn't more magic, what mistakes would they call out, etc.) My ability to be vulnerable is a useful commodity for me and each time I used up some of that for a daily MTG video I would have less for "being myself" and trying new things. I really think the burnout I've felt has stemmed from this.

I'm sharing all of this because I truly see all of you as my dear friends. I make content because I want to provide something fun for my friends. I want to add something to he community we've built.

I hope with more space for energy, vulnerability and healing I'll be able to get back to responding to comments, posting on discord again, and making more friends with this awesome community.

Thanks for hearing me out and allowing me to be open and transparent. I truly appreciate all of you and all the amazing, kind comments I've gotten since my last "serious" post about 6 months ago.

Finally made it to Mythic!! The first time I decided I cared about it in 10 months. Just had to remind all the naysayers that say, "You suck at magic", that I can hit Mythic while still sucking at magic, HA!!
