English-language YouTubers are turning a nothingburger into a crisis. A low-level Japanese politician mentioned Assassin’s Creed in a Diet hearing, and suddenly, it’s ‘Japan is furious at Ubisoft!’ In reality? Most people here don’t care. This hardly made a splash in Japan. This politician is just trying to get overseas attention because he’s ignored in Japan—which, honestly, might be a genius move.

Some creators just get things wrong. Others know exactly what they’re doing and deceiving their viewers.

PS: This isn’t me defending Ubisoft—I actually appreciate Western criticism of the company on Japan’s behalf. But let’s be real: Japanese people as a whole don’t care about DEI discourse overseas. We only get upset when outsiders try to tell us how to handle our own culture.

YouTube is broken so that you can upload two EXACTLY identical videos and one will get monetized while the other won’t. Contacting and explaining this to YouTube does nothing. 4 days after uploading the last video, they decided that it was’t “ad friendly” while the other drafts were. And having a demonetized video isn’t good for my channel.

Since I’m now making the other draft video public instead, it would be greatly appreciated if you could leave comments and give me watch time cuz I had to unlist my other video, deleting all comments :/ thank you
