The Pretty Reckless is a post-grunge band from New York formed by singer (occasionally on guitar and keyboard) Taylor Momsen in 2009. Momsen is supported by Ben Phillips on guitar, Mark Damon on bass and Jamie Perkins on drums, all members of the grunge band, Famous.
The band was originally to be called "The Reckless", but was changed to "The Pretty Reckless" due to trademark problems. They have signed with Interscope Records and was supposed to release their album in the fall of 2009, but they didn't, due to unknown reasons. In early 2009, the band toured with The Veronicas.
The songs are all written by Taylor Momsen according to her own statements in an interview with MTV where she also revealed the influences on the band include The Beatles, along with many grunge bands, such as Soundgarden, Audioslave, Hole and Nirvana.
