After rehearsals 🎭, I cross the street to HARALD’S, the gay bar where glamour lives. There, IGOR UNPLUGGED, THE MUSICAL bursts to life, and who should appear but our marvelous friend Johan Rudebeck.
The night continues across the street to FALAFELKUNGEN 🌯 — because true theatre always ends in falafel. And as if scripted, Sveavägen itself is closed, transformed into a silent disco. Imagine it: hundreds dancing in stillness, headphones glowing, the city remade into a dream. 💡🎶✨

Darling, it’s all about the cost per wear. I slip into my Lagerfeld x H&M jeans — their seventh appearance — which means, mathematically, they’re practically free. 20 SEK per wear! Style and thrift, together at last. 🖤👖✨
Inside the theatre, rehearsals pulse like a living organism 🎭. I take the name tags off a dressing gown — once loungewear, now reborn as costume. Fashion is transformation, always. Our divine costume designer Camilla gifts us with treasures, and I pass along a box of glasses and sunglasses 🕶️👓 to our ingenious makeup designer, David. Sharing style is as chic as wearing it. Outside, of course, it’s raining ☔ — as though the skies insist on their own drama.
After work, I glide into Kulturhuset Stadsteatern and up to Kilen, Fri Scen, for the opening of LEDNINGEN’s “KARL XII – FÖR SVERIGE I FRAMTIDEN.” A not-for-profit theatre group, bold in ambition. The performance? Let us say… interesting. Not great. More a first attempt than a triumph — a reading in costume. Theatre is rehearsal until it isn’t. And here, I felt the rehearsal still lingered.
But isn’t that marvellous, too? To see art in its raw, unfinished state? To glimpse possibility, not perfection? That’s what keeps us coming back — rain-soaked, bemused, alive. 🌧️

Darling, what is life if not sheer? I arrive at the theatre and open a package: inside, a black sweater so thin it could be a whisper. Transparent! See-through! The body revealed, the mystery intact. Naturally, I model it à la Joanna Lumley in the 60s — one must always look excited. And I do. I always do. 🖤✨
After work I leap upon my bike 🚴‍♂️ and glide toward Söder. I am meant to meet my beloved friend Ulf at a restaurant. What restaurant? I haven’t the faintest memory. Ulf and I met in 1986 or 87 at Teaterverkstan — two dreamers of the stage. Today is his birthday 🎂, and I bring treasures: a Le Creuset wine cooler 🍷 and a Le Creuset water bottle 💧.He is meant to quit smoking before his surgery, though as far as I can see, the smoke still lingers. Ah, life.
At last the restaurant reveals itself: DEMI. Chic name, small word, big flavour.
On my way home, I pass COOP 🛒 where I collect three parcels: two from VINTED 📦, one from SELLPY 📦📦with nine curiosities inside. And who do I encounter near my block? Mattias on a scooter 🛵. Once gone from Stockholm for his mental health, now returned — a resurrection of friendship.
And outside my door — yet another package awaits. Always a surprise, always a story. Isn’t that life? A constant parade of packages, of people, of past and present colliding. 🎭

A bag for the legs – those long, noble drapes that fall from the heavens and shield the audience from the secret ballet of stagehands. They call them “legs.” Sometimes, in the darker corners, “tormentors.” Delicious word, isn’t it?
From backstage stitches to sunlight on my skin 🌞 – I leave the velvet mysteries behind, hop on my bicycle 🚴‍♂️ and glide toward the docks. There, Martin awaits with his boat club air of leisure ⛵. We swim, darling, not for exercise but for conversation – threading water, threading ideas 💭, threading an entire hour of friendship under the sky.
After, bicycles again, legs pumping like metronomes, to TELEFONPLAN! And into the warm embrace of HOLY KEBAB 🌯🍺 – falafel, crisp and golden, beer, cold and foaming. It is the nectar of mortals on a summer’s day. And what a day it was! One of the best, if not the best, of the summer 🌞💦.
But, oh! The coup de théâtre – as I attempt to teach Martin the art of the dive, two radiant young women surface. They recognize me. Not as a man at the docks, not as a swimmer in trunks, but as SWEDISH WORD OF THE DAY. 🎥📚 A name! A recognition! One swims into fame like into cool water – suddenly, shockingly, gloriously.
Summer, falafel, theatre, recognition – darling, life really is a stage. 🌊🎭🌯✨
