Joel Fan
Classical pianist and recording artist Joel Fan is described by the New York Times as an "impressive pianist". His sheer exuberance and virtuosity has been celebrated in his solo recitals, and in appearances with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Pops, Yo-Yo Ma, The Silk Road Ensemble, and A Far Cry. His range of musical interests span the music of Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Schumann and Prokofiev, to South American composers Villa-Lobos, Ginastera, and Nazareth. He illuminates the rare and unexpected beauty of the Middle East and China, and champions contemporary music with world premiere recordings of Leon Kirchner, William Bolcom, Qigang Chen, Peteris Vasks and Peter Sculthorpe. Joel Fan has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Ravinia Festival, Royal Albert Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and the Royal Concertgebouw.
