Never underestimate the late-bloomer. It's not immediate scope that matters, its the willingness to continue. Even the beginner can overtake the master on a long-enough timeline, and in the age of information - that horizon shortens. Someone willing to persist, study, learn every day - can mimic 5 years of experience in an industry, in just 6 months.

In 8 days, I will be returning to my 4th attempt at the Ironman 70.3 in Wisconsin. Over the last year, I have failed this race 3 different times. DNF - did not finish.

However, when I cross the finish line in under 6 hours next week, no one will know how much of a failure I've been with this race. What they'll see is a guy who can cross the finish line towards the front half of the race - swimming like a bullet.

Do not underestimate the learner, the one who persists. You give them an inch, eventually they'll take a mile.
