Aaron and I first said “I do” back in June of 2019. Like so many couples, the road to our wedding wasn’t without a few twists and turns. Between coordinating child visitation schedules with our co-parents, making sure our parents’ health concerns were taken into account, and planning travel for siblings and family coming in from all over the country, it was… a lot.
Thankfully, being in Kansas—the heart of the country—meant that we were in a central place that made it just a little easier for everyone to join us on our big day.
Now, I’ll admit—I was in a very budget-conscious mindset back then, which meant I took on almost all of the planning, creating, and organizing myself. Being a Type A personality, I actually loved the challenge. Pinterest boards and DIY ideas became my constant companions. But, looking back, I realize I didn’t get to relax and enjoy the process as much as I’ve seen some of my friends do at their weddings. Still, our wedding day was magical, and we both loved it.
Since then, we’ve seen so many couples we know—people who married around the same time as us—part ways. That really made us stop and reflect. We had a conversation: Are we good? Has anything changed emotionally between us? Are we still walking in the same direction together?
The answer was yes. Absolutely yes.
In fact, while we were in Gatlinburg not too long ago, I surprised Aaron with a new ring. It had gears and wheels, almost like a watch, to symbolize that no matter what, we continue to work—together—through the passage of time. It was a quiet, meaningful reminder that love isn’t a one-day event, it’s something we build on, day after day.
Fast forward to now. We had originally planned a trip to Las Vegas for another event, and somewhere along the way, our conversations about renewing our vows grew more serious. We had talked about it as early as a few months after our wedding, and even considered doing it during that first trip to Vegas. But back then, we decided to wait until the timing felt right.
Well, now feels right.
We even stumbled across an incredible venue deal that made everything click into place. It felt like the universe whispering: This is your moment.
So here we are. Preparing not just for another trip, but for a celebration of how far we’ve come, how strong we still are, and the love that continues to grow between us.
This time, we want to share the adventure as we go. From the planning to the little details, all the way up to the big day itself. And if we can reach the number of followers needed in time, we’ll be able to livestream the ceremony on Halloween so our friends, family, and all of you can join in, no matter where you are. We’re even hoping to do a live Q&A to talk about the planning journey and answer any questions along the way.

I just want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for everyone who showed up and stood together at the No Kings protest. The energy, the solidarity, the heart—it meant everything.
Today also marks the U.S. Army’s birthday—founded on June 14, 1775—and it’s not lost on me that we were out there exercising the very freedoms that so many have served to protect.
When the Army was formed, it was to fight against tyranny and say boldly: No Kings. That same spirit still lives on. We honor that legacy not just with words, but with action—by continuing to show up, speak out, and defend the right of every person to live freely and equally.
To those who serve and have served—thank you. And to everyone who showed up in protest this weekend—thank you. We are part of a long tradition of people who believe in liberty, justice, and the power of collective voices.
