2. Reduces Foot Odor
Baking soda naturally neutralizes odor-causing bacteria and acids. This can help freshen feet that sweat a lot or smell after wearing shoes all day.
3. May Help With Athlete’s Foot
Because baking soda creates a more alkaline environment, it may help slow the growth of fungi that cause Athlete's foot. It’s not a cure, but it may help reduce itching and moisture.
4. Softens Calluses and Rough Heels
A soak can help soften hard skin, cracked heels, and calluses, making it easier to moisturize and repair dry feet.
5. Relieves Tired or Achy Feet
Warm water combined with baking soda can help relax muscles and soothe tired feet, especially after standing or walking all day.
6. Helps With Minor Skin Irritation
Baking soda may calm itchy or irritated skin on the feet because it has mild anti-inflammatory properties.
Simple Baking Soda Foot Soak Recipe
What you need:
1/4 cup baking soda
1 basin of warm water (enough to cover your feet)
Steps:
Fill a basin with warm water.
Add 1/4 cup baking soda and stir.
Soak feet for 15–20 minutes.
Gently scrub with a pumice stone if desired.
Rinse and apply moisturizer or coconut oil.
✅ Tip: After the soak, applying a thick moisturizer and putting on cotton socks overnight can help heal dry or cracked heels faster.
