Men of 3 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, fire volleys during the burial of Baron Manfred von Richthofen (the Red Baron) at Bertangles on the Western Front, 22nd April 1918.
Richthofen was killed on 21 April near Vaux-sur-Somme, France and buried the following day by Commonwealth forces with full military honours. He was perhaps the most famous ace of the First World War.
