Richie Hawtin
Richie Hawtin is British-born and Canadian-raised electronic musician and DJ. He became involved with the Detroit Techno second wave in the early 1990s and has been a leading exponent of minimal techno music since the mid-1990s.
He is the mind behind labels Plus 8, MINUS Records and From Our Minds, nurturing a plethora of talent from Speedy J in the early 90s to Gaiser in the 2010s. Meanwhile, as a performing artist, he is constantly pushing conceptual frontiers, moving things forward, welcoming as many as he can to ideas and experiences that would have seemed pure science fiction when he began his career. Richie Hawtin will, as ever, be revelling in the possibilities of whatever comes next...

DEX EFX X0X continues my experiment to take Techno to the main stage in an authentic way, remembering where our music first originated front, dark, sweaty strobe-lit dance floors with the DJ mostly hidden away in the darkness!
Lights, shadows, flashes and glimpses of the music and tracks that I’m playing in real-time. As with all my shows, this performance was live, spontaneous and everything you hear/see unfolded as it happens! Thank you to my team for following my flow and helping to create this audio/visual experience!

Plastikman - ‘Sheet One’ - 30th Anniversary Edition2023 Remastered Digital Release & Double Vinyl
Journalist @PhilipSherburne, writing about ‘Sheet One’ in 2011, states: “The first Plastikman album was ‘Sheet One’. Its title suggests a new beginning, a clean slate - that’s furthered by the record’s spontaneous origins.
The majority of the album was recorded in a two-day span in early 1993. It went on to become one of the most iconic albums in electronic music, and introduced Plastikman to a public far beyond the Midwest.
Right there on the cover, it was represented in the splotchy Plastikman symbol, an avatar that was soon to become ubiquitous throughout the global electronic music underground. And it was represented in the CD sleeve, which appeared to consist of perforated acid blotter. The blotter paper underscored the psychedelic nature of the music."

Proud to be back within this legendary group of artist albums which all took their own direction in bringing people safely down from a night of dancing and into the warmth and comfort of ambience and introspection.
A pivotal series from a very special time. A time which no matter how hard we try to re-create or dissect, will never again be part of present reality. The beauty and mystery of the past and those moments of the early 1990s.

Plastikman - 'Sheet One' - 30th Anniversary Edition
It’s quite hard to explain or understand the implications of how much 'Sheet One' affected my life. At that early point in my career I had already opened Plus 8 Records with John Acquaviva, released a number of my own singles like F.U.S.E.’s 'F.U.' & 'Substance Abuse', both which created a significant impact on dance-floors around the world.
However, @plastikman was destined to be the project that broke me out of my comfortable underground nerdy-persona and reduce my sound and aesthetics to only what mattered, acid & percussion. The sound was more hypnotic and repetitive than my Chicago & Detroit influences and the first album 'Sheet One' also made great use of my visual and cheeky marketing ideas with its logo and acid-blotter sheet album cover.
The album was mostly recorded in a 48 hour window in the basement of my parents house as I experimented with uniting the Roland TB303 and TR606 for my first time. A basic and very hands on approach, I created, played and recorded everything live in one-take and stitched the best ideas together shortly afterwards.
I had stepped into the studio those days in an attempt to go deep & cerebral, mostly how my mind was resonating between those early Detroit rave weekends. I think part of the success of the album was that it perfectly and honestly, even innocently, captured the mood & Intension of a young nerdy producer who was extremely motivated and ready for the world to take notice.
