PROGRAMMING UPDATE (lol):

Suuuuuuuuuuup everyone?!?! Just wanted you all to know that I will be taking the family on a little vacation starting tomorrow, Weds 5/17, through the weekend.

This is of course going to impact my schedule, but it will only impact the release of the videos. I will still be watching everything and working on my notes while I'm on vacay, so the videos will fire off pretty rapidly once I get back.

Now that that's out of the way, here are the videos that will NOT be released this week:

Ted Lasso S03E10 (although that's kinda on the table if I watch it tonight and record it tomorrow before I leave, which is actually quite plausible because I will absolutely watch it tonight, the question is if I'll record the video tomorrow)
Dave S03E08
Mrs Davis S01E08 (pretty sick about this one since it's the finale, but I'll be watching it at the first available opportunity)
Silo S01E04 (same applies as above, except it's obviously not the finale)

I'll be back home well before Succession and Barry on Sunday, so those will see their normal Monday releases.

*** LONG (BUT INFORMATIVE) POST ALERT ***

Well well well, I'm back in the States from my Canadian vacation and mostly recovered from a bit of congestion I brought home (mostly, but not completely, which you'll likely hear in today's Fleishman video). I wanted to let you guys know that this very brief hiatus is over, as well as what to expect to end the year and to start 2023.

Today's "Fleishman" finale (which I'm about to watch now) and last Sunday's "1923" episode will be the final videos of 2022. However, the rest of this week and this weekend are going to be dedicated to watching as much stuff as I can to prep for 2023 and to make sure everything has been given a fair shake for the Best of 2022 list.

I plan on getting through Black Bird, Interview With a Vampire, and The English during these next few days before I finalize the Best of 2022 list.

Speaking of the Best of 2022 video ... I'm almost certainly going to do it live. It will almost certainly be scheduled for 1/7/23 or 1/14/23 (both are Saturdays), and I would hope as many of you can make it as possible so you can drop questions and comments in the chat as well. When that video is posted on the channel, I'll probably put in time codes for each portion of the video because ... fuck, it's gonna be a long one. lol I doubt you'll wanna sit through the whole thing, so I'd like to make sure you can jump around to the parts you wanna hear.

Now here's the big stuff: the 2023 slate.

On 1/1/23, Netflix is dropping "Kaleidoscope," which is an 8-episode heist series starring Giancarlo Esposito that — aside from the first and last episodes — will be played in a random order. My plan is to binge all 8 episodes and record 8 videos ALL on 1/1/23. lol Yes, that is a MASSIVE undertaking, but I would recommend you keep an eye on the FB page that day if you want some behind the scenes insight on that experience.

The remaining January slate AS OF NOW starts on 1/15 with The Last of Us and Mayor Of Kingstown S2.

So you're probably wondering, "Well what else is gonna fill in those 2 weeks?" Glad you asked. I'll also be recording a lot of content to just kind of slow-drip out over the course of that time, but unfortunately for most of my subscribers, it's gonna mostly Patreon content since they largely got shafted in December.

Some of the stuff I'm gonna put out during that time:

- Retro Reviews 4 (which will now be on the first Avatar film instead of on Dark City, which will now be Retro Reviews 5 ... also on Patreon)

A couple of quick notes (since I know y'all don't watch the Future State videos, lol):

1. Just a reminder, I started going back to work from my paternity leave this week. I go into the office Tues-Thurs, so my reviews for the final 2 episodes of this season of The Handmaid's Tale will be posted Weds night (I won't be able to record the videos till I get home) rather than late morning/early afternoon.

2. I was on the fence prior to posting the video, but y'all sure showed up and showed out asking me to cover this season of The White Lotus, so thy wish is my command. I'm officially covering Season 2. BUT, starting 11/13 it's gonna get a little tricky because I ALSO plan on covering Yellowstone and Tulsa King, and those both drop on Sunday, 11/13. Sooooo ... starting Monday 11/14, it's gonna get hectic having to post 3 videos in one day. No promises on what time of day each of those vids will be posted. ESPECIALLY since Sunday night will be for Yellowstone and The White Lotus, so I might not even be watching Tulsa King till Monday.

FYI, as I’m presently in Canada, my House of the Dragon video will be recorded and posted later than usual. I’d say 7-9pm est is a reasonable time range to expect it. Sorry for the delay! My wife’s family is Canadian and it’s their Thanksgiving.

Last night's episode of "House of the Dragon" has resulted in the longest video in One Mike history (coming in at a whopping 40+ minutes). Therefore, the edit/rendering/uploading process is going to take significantly longer than usual (and is presently moving at a slow pace). So check for today's HOTD review episode in about 2 hours. Looking forward to hearing YOUR thoughts!

Effective immediately, I’ll no longer be covering “The Rings Of Power.” At this point, I find the show to be objectively bad and can barely muster up the energy to watch it, let alone prepare, record, edit, and post a video for it that few people will watch and that I won’t enjoy creating.
