Video Boom
Video Boom is a collective of folks who screen films that never got a proper DVD release to audiences. We started in 2010 in Fort Worth TX. I moved across the country and now do screenings in Bloomington/Indianapolis Indiana as well. Basically wherever we can set up a VCR and a projector.
We have done screenings in music venues, parking lots, restaurants, video stores, coffee shops and the historic Texas Theater. The majority of our screenings in Bloomington happen in the screening room of a video store.
Some of the movies we show are undiscovered gems and some are laughably bad. We encourage talking at the movie opposed to talking to each other at the screenings. The movies are always preceded with trailers for upcoming movies we are screening, weirdo shorts and commercials from yesteryear. And there is a brief discussion before and after the movie.
