My name is Jessica and I'm a sewing pattern designer, patternmaking mentor, content creator, and someone who loves to sew clothes!

After falling in love with sewing and designing clothes, I opened a made-to-order sustainable clothing brand. A few years and a big move later, I realized that I could only sew so many clothes on my own and it was time to pivot my brand.

Although I loved sewing for customers, these days I'm focused on making sewing and designing more accessible to all. I offer size inclusive sewing patterns, teach patternmaking and grading, and I help indie designers create successful businesses through my Pattern to Market course.

If you want to learn how to sew, learn patternmaking, or become a pattern designer, you’re in the right place. I’d love to help with whatever stage you're at.

The Tapioca Trouser sewing pattern is FINALLY HERE!

If you've been following along, you probably know that I've been pouring my heart into this sewing pattern for the past few months. It's beautiful to see all my hard work pay off and to see my design on so many beautiful bodies. If you're interested in making a pair or simply supporting my work, you can find the pattern on my Etsy shop:

www.etsy.com/shop/JessilousPatterns?ref=simple-sho…

Pattern Details:
The Tapioca Trousers are a high waisted and pleated trouser with a relaxed fit. They are designed to be comfortable around the waist and have generous ease throughout the hips and crotch. The instructions are intended to be beginner friendly and include a detailed YouTube tutorial. The pattern comes in sizes 0-34: W 24"-54", H 34"-65”

I also want to say a huge thank you to Victoria from Erbaccia Studio. She taught me how to create pdf sewing patterns and grade an inclusive size range. This trouser pattern simply wouldn't be possible without her. If you're also interested in learning how to make sewing patterns, check out her course and let her know that I sent you her way: erbacciaschool.com/

Being a size inclusive sewing pattern designer is something that I think most designers strive for, but at the same time, there are limitations to inclusivity that might not be apparent to most. I previously owned a made to order clothing company where I handmade clothing items for my customers. I strived to be inclusive, but I ran into road blocks and I couldn't find the resources that I was looking for. I've finally found the resource that I wish I had years ago and I'm so excited to be sharing this journey with you. In this video, I go in depth about creating an inclusive size range for my sewing patterns and I talk about some limitations to inclusivity that you may not know about. I hope this video offers a new perspective on the grading process and encourages others that size inclusivity is possible with the right resources.
