I have a confession to make. For a while, I felt like I was at a standstill. I have so many stories, adventures, and experiences I've been desperate to share, but the technical hurdles of creating a true home for them online felt insurmountable. I was discouraged and honestly close to giving up on the idea of building something bigger than just the videos.
But then, something shifted. With the help of new technology and some incredible AI tools like Gemini, I started debugging the issues that once seemed like mountains. It was like having a patient partner to help untangle the code, brainstorm ideas, and push through the creative blocks.
Today, I am overflowing with joy and pride to finally share with you my new website: Shauna's Adventures! ✨
This is more than just a blog; it’s the home for every part of VR Getaway—the magical worlds, the inspirational messages, the legends, and even my MathVentures. It's a place I've poured my heart into, and I'm so proud of how it turned out.

A Little Morning Peace For You!

​I was on my walk to work this morning and was greeted by this absolutely breathtaking sunrise. I had to stop and share it with you all.
​It got me thinking... so often we start our days in a rush, immediately plugging into music, news, or podcasts to distract ourselves. This morning, I made a choice to just walk in silence and listen. The sense of peace and clarity it brought to my morning was incredible, and I wanted to pass that feeling along.
​It’s the same feeling of peace I hope to share in every video—a reminder that you can find a "getaway" even in the quiet moments of a simple morning walk.

I'm so excited to share a completely new way to experience the Grand Tetons!

I've taken my original 360° footage from the Taggart Lake hike and given it a cinematic "Tiny Planet" facelift. It got thousands of views on Oculus TV and Pico TV, but never found wings here. This was such a fun and creative project, turning the majestic peaks and serene lake reflections into a unique piece of art. It's a journey through a world that is both familiar and fantastical.

Hello, lovely souls!

The journey is complete, and I am so excited to share it with you. Our new VR 360 experience, "The Path the Mountain Teaches," is now live. It was a bumpy road yesterday. I upload it and thought everything was good, and yet I had an error in my VR metadata that I didn’t see until it went live. There are tools to fix this… they are just not available to low class me, so I re-rendered and re uploaded and lost a lot of you, but it is done and it is what it is.

This is more than just a hike; it's a meditation on finding peace, resilience, and beauty in the challenges we face. I hope it brings you a moment of quiet joy and transports you to the stunning wildflower meadows of the Wasatch Mountains.

Hello, my wonderful adventurers! ✨

Many of you know me for taking you on adventures to magical worlds through my videos. But what you might not know is that my other great passion is building those same kinds of adventures for my students in my classroom!

I'm so excited to announce a new blog series I'm starting called "Shauna's Classroom Quests," where I'll be sharing the secret maps and spellbooks I use to turn tough math topics into epic RPGs.

Our first two adventures are ready! We're stepping into "The Artificer's Forge," a lesson where we turn the rules of exponents into magical runes to power up an ancient golem. 1. really got killed in South America where he tried to escape to?
2. lived out the rest of his days living in disguise
3. was actually a Robin Hood Character, stealing from the rich and trying to help the thousands of poverty mine workers in these areas that were dying from chemical poisoning from the mines.

PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND? How do you lose 2200 views on a video overnight? I have not been doing anything fake, and on June 30 my Burr Trail 360 video had at least 3300 views, on July 1 it dropped to only 865 views.  Why?! I promise I did not do anything to deserve this!! On July 3 my views were up to 1.5K views, but then on
July 5 they were down to 729 views, and on July 7 it was up to 1000.
I thought views were strictly you get a view and it goes up. I had no idea this new Social score mess is allowing views to ride a rollercoaster! Is there another explanation I don't understand?!!I am trying SO hard to be authentic, genuine, and real here and have been trying so hard not to do anything that might get flagged. It feels very unfair to have my views being manipulated like that, and definitely disheartening to ride this rollercoaster.
