Follow up from yesterday’s post: The second thing that helps me reach my goals is that I set clear deadlines but detach myself from timelines for my goals.

Let me explain,

After having helped over 1,000 + people transform, you notice some common patterns and the second biggest one I see is that people are more attached to the timeline then they are to the actual goal.

Some people care more about not "doing this" for longer than X months then they are about being 30 lbs lighter. Which is completely crazy to me.

When I said above that I set clear deadlines but that I detach myself from timelines, here is what I mean:

I care more about whatever goal I am setting than how long it will take me to get there.

But I do set clear deadlines because it forces me to take a certain LEVEL of action to be able to get there.

I hope that make sense, some people say "I will lose weight when I lose weight, I'll just do it slowly over time". But never set a clear game plan in place to make that happen so they just end up getting heavier throughout the years and decade.

Setting a deadline of 4-8-12 months, as an example, forces you to have a plan in place to ACTUALLY make progress; it forces you to take a certain level of action to move towards your goal.

Now from there it's about taking the best actions possible for you to reach your goal with the understanding that it won't go perfectly and that life will happen (throw you a curve ball) and that's ok because it's all part of the learning process.

I personally believe that everything happens for a reason and so if you set yourself a goal and you actually are committed to it. All the challenges, life obstacles, ebbs and flows of life that come your way will be there to teach you exactly the right lessons you need to learn in order to reach your goal, and I also believe that they are there to test you to see if you really want your goal.

So for me when I decide to commit to something and things get in the way I get excited because I get to run through them. Almost like those scenes in the movie where the fighter gets punched in the face, and looks back up with a smile that says "Aw that's a cute punch , now let's get the real fight started".

Your beliefs will shape you and how you deal with hardship. It was a MUST for me to develop this belief system when I was going through the whole cancer journey with my late partner because otherwise, I would not have been able to show up as my best self.

And so it needs to become a MUST for you to get healthier and get fitter.

Many of you reading this who haven't taken the step to be in our program are still struggling to improve your body composition and get healthier on a whole food plant-based lifestyle and that is because you haven't fully committed to yourself yet.

By the way, the number one reason why most people fail in their transformation it's because they weren't truly committed to their goals. They were more committed to comfort and convenience. (I'll let that sink in with you).

I'm sharing this because many of you don't need to listen to more podcasts, watch more YouTube videos, or read more books. You just need to commit to yourself, set a clear deadline to force massive action, detach yourself from the timeline, and just go for it.

Take imperfect action, learn from it (Hire a coach to speed up that process) and care more about getting to the goal than you do about the journey.

Also keep in mind what else it will enhance in your life to be the Fit Vegan version of yourself. More energy, more stamina, more strength, reduction in your risk of dealing with chronic illnesses, kicking sarcopenia and osteoporosis's butt, more quality years with the people you love, more confidence and more enjoyment out of life ❤️
