Ptsd from serving in Iraq, laughing has helped me loads. I recently started watching clips of Jimmy Carr and 8 out of 10 cats panels shows. Hilarious. Between jimmy, sean lock, rip, and tom wilkinson, i was rolling.

I love that Jimmy. People can say what they want about you and your edgy humour, but you do often show your intelligence without the jokes too, and you're a good guy man.

Jimmy mate, I have no depression or any mental problems and your videos still bring a smile to my face and make my day. Lighthearted banter about edgy topics... witty wordplay... you're incredible

Jimmy and his fellow comedians help give an alternate, humorous perspective on life's ills. Laughter certainly is a kind of medicine for the soul.

I'm glad that your comedy connected with her and saved her life. I can't imagine how grateful her family must feel.

I love comedy so much partly because I am so broken medically and mentally. When I am dark and low comedy helps me to keep going and find joy.

You haven't saved my life Jimmy but you sure have pulled me back out of smoldering dumpster fires of a day.

I, too, suffer from depression as well as extreme anxiety and lots of other mental health and neurological issues, and sometimes I just want to collapse into anguish and escape from this nightmare I feel as though I'm remaining alive purely out of spite while ferociously gritting my teeth Every single second is an uphill battle It's horrible đ

I told me psychiatrist âI feel brokenâ and he said of course youâre not, now have some therapy. Years later I got a coeliac diagnosis and stopped poisoning myself with food I couldnât eat â and it turns out I was fixed! So sometimes you are broken, itâs just a question of finding the damage. My stomach ached 24/7 and you learn to ignore things that are 24/7.

I turn to your YouTube vids for similar reasons. You helped a lot of people and you never even knew it. Thanks â¤ď¸

Learning to switch perspectives ("trans-framing" as John Vervaeke would put it) is definitely a part of the solution. Thank you Jimmy for showing us how that can be done.

Comedy is most definitely an anti depressant. Stand-up comedy can get me through the day. When I was younger, it was Eddie Izzard who gave me laughter therapy. (Sorry Jimmy! You're funny too)

Discussion of suicide and depression needs destigmatizing. People need to understand that it's okay to talk about and that they won't be ostracized or shamed for needing to talk about it. Please, if anyone is struggling or in crisis, call 988 and talk to someone. There's nothing wrong with asking for help.
