I absolutely agree, and it is a very sad state of affairs in the United States. My boyfriend said that the only way a woman can be elected president is if both major parties ran women and only then if there was no write in campaign for a man. When I was in Ireland last year, I found out that the seventh president of that country was a woman. We have nearly 250 years of an all male hierarchy.

Meanwhile… Ireland just elected their THIRD female president!

I disagree. A woman did win the popular vote in 2016, so it’s not all misogyny. Maybe the electoral college isn’t ready for a female president.

Yup America voted for a child rapist, 34 time felon, fraud, and insurrectionist over a highly educated and kind woman

Or you know the female candidates that we’ve had weren’t good? I feel like if ask most ppl during most elections as to why they voted for trump. It was I’m not voting for the other two for various reasons. Hillary had her skeletons in the closet and many felt Kamala shouldn’t even have been a candidate given the circumstances

Sadly, she’s right. I’m almost 65 and don’t expect to see this in my lifetime.

This is true. Whether Democrats win in 2028 will depend on the race, gender, and religious affiliation of their candidate.

USA TODAY
Michelle Obama said Americans don't want a woman to be president, and that's why they shouldn't look to her to run for the nation's highest office.
"As we saw in this past election, sadly, we ain’t ready," Obama said. "That’s why I’m like, don’t even look at me about running, because you all are lying. You’re not ready for a woman. You are not."
The former first lady and wife of President Barack Obama made the comments Nov. 14 in a conversation with Tracee Ellis Ross at the Brooklyn Academy of Music promoting her new book, "The Look."
"So don't waste my time," she continued. "We got a lot of growing up to do, and there are still, sadly, a lot of men who feel like they cannot be led by a woman, and we saw it. I think we still have growing to do in that regard."
