It helps a lot, but nowadays new studies are pointing other way. Formaly, this new studies shows a most carb is better, but only If they are complex carbs with low glycemic index. The trouble is the personal behaviour. It's easy for me to do a high protein and normal to low carb fooding than a high carb (low index). I would love to make a transition, and I will do during 2025, thinking about health and longevity instead of only thinking about hypertrophy

Not nearly as important as hitting that caloric deficit, but still something to think of I suppose.

Most protein sources have high satiety indexes to keep you full for longer. So by that logic high protein diet would help you lose weight.

The saturation of protein is fairly high, so it definitely helps to 'feel' full longer. But yeah of course you need to be in a calory deficit. But it will help during a cut

The question is vague. I said "yes" because I want to maintain muscle while losing weight. But if you simply want to lose weight and don't care how you look or feel, then as long as you meet your basic protein needs, you will lose weight.

I don't feel that full eating protein. but if add no sauce to rice or pasta then I kinda wanna stop eating eating either way. I still eat a ton of protein but not because I'm in a deficit

100% I changed from low prison and high protein and it made a world of a difference in terms of satiety

As a hunger reducer yes, it's also the same calorie per gram as carbs, however a lot of comments are saying protein helps prevent muscle loss, this is kind of true but actually during a weight loss situation ensuring carbs are high prevents more muscle loss this is specifically important during times of lower or no resistance training.

If you cut down on carbohydrates, the body will make glucose from protein, and the need for protein will increase. And if you cut down on fats, then this will not happen, and there will be no need for additional protein.

High Protein intake in itself has no bearing on weight loss. High protein and high carbs and fat do not equal weight loss, quite the opposite. I'm shocked 94% of responders said yes...Weight loss is high protein WITH low carb.

Lol weight loss is just eating less than you currently do. You can eat what you want just half your portions lmao

More proteine means less muscle loss. More muscle means more passive calorie consummed. Am i wrong ?

High fat, med protein, and nearly zero carb is best for losing weight (the body burns fat instead of glucose).
