I’ve had two themes for 2025: Focus and painting the back of the fence.
As we are a few weeks into Q2, I am reminded of how important it is to FOCUS. I also set that as my theme last year; it was a life-changing year for us in every area of our life.
I set it again as a theme because I noticed a common pattern amongst those don’t succeed…they get distracted, they get shiny object syndrome and they think they can do it all.
Some people say they want to be the strongest and the most muscular they’ve ever been while training to run a marathon (It ain’t going to happen). This is what creates mediocrity in a lot of people’s lives.
I’ve set ONE big goal for each area of my life (Relationship, Fitness, Business, Health, Financial) and I’m relentlessly focusing on those while actively catching myself when I find myself getting distracted.
I tell myself that I can reach that goal if I want too but only after I’ve reached my main goal and that has been serving me tremendously.
The other theme which comes from a Steve Jobs story (Painting the back of the fence), is from when he was a kid and his dad asked him to paint the fence in the backyard and Steve asked him if he should also paint the back of the fence since no one would ever see it because it was just a field behind them and his dad told him that he had too because he would know that the back was painted.
It is about doing your best work and going above and beyond. As some people will never know what you did or how hard you worked to create something but you will know. You will know that you gave it your all.
So that has been a big theme in our Fit Vegan company amongst myself and our employees to paint the back of the fence and to build a company that will endure the test of time.
Since my mission is to help 10,000 people get lean, thrive and disease-proof their bodies on plants by 2033 and 1 million by 2050. I need to continue to build a solid brand and foundation as we have been to ensure that we get to 2050 and successfully reach our goal.
I just felt like sharing these two themes with you because if they resonate with me and I deemed them important enough to make them to highlight for 2025 then there must me something valuable in it for somebody else that will be reading this.
