From Survival to Sovereignty: Be the Lion š¦š
In my last post, I opened up about the shift Iāve been makingāfrom doing and pushing, to softening and listening. From high-intensity everything to meeting myself where I am.
But healing, real healing, isnāt just physical. Itās also mental. Itās nervous system awareness. And itās learning which thoughts are worth chasingāand which ones are just bones.
Let me share something thatās been living rent-free in my mind lately:
𦓠The Story of the Lion, the Dog & the Bone
Imagine you have a bone in your hand. Across from you sits a dog. You wave the bone aroundāleft, right, up, downāand the dog follows every movement. Eyes locked, tail wagging, fully captivated by the bone. You throw it across the room? The dog sprints after it, without hesitation.
Now imagine a lion is sitting across from you. You wave the same bone. The lion may notice the movement⦠but it doesnāt react the same way. It sees you. It doesnāt chase. It chooses.
That bone? Thatās your thoughts. Your triggers. Your patterns. Your old stories.
Most of us have been trainedāby trauma, by stress, by cultureāto live like the dog. Reacting. Chasing. Trying to please, trying to prove, trying to stay safe.
But healing? Healing is becoming the lion.

And lately? Iām learning to stop chasing every thought, every fear, every inner critic. To pause. To choose. To remember: I am not my thoughtsāIām the one watching them.
Whether itās health anxiety, body shame, fear of not being enough, or the constant pressure to ādo moreā⦠those are just bones being thrown.
And Iām learning to stop chasing them.

š Instead, I move gently. š§āāļø I meditate with compassion. š I restāeven when it feels rebellious. š I read. I learn. I listen to my nervous system. And I breathe. A lot.
If any of this resonates, check out my last post [here](insert link or say āscroll backā)āI shared some tools and practices that are helping me regulate, soften, and reconnect with the truth underneath the noise.

So hereās my gentle nudge to you today:
⨠Be the lion. ⨠Donāt chase every bone. ⨠You get to choose whatās worthy of your energy.
Let your nervous system exhale. Let your inner world be led by sovereignty, not survival.
Iām walking this with you. Still healing. Still weird. Still here. Still cheering for you.
What thoughts have you been chasing that youāre ready to put down?
