The 3 wishes question you ask at the end of interviews had a huge impact on my perception. Homeless people, despite having next to nothing, consistently wish the best for the world and their fellow humans. Every time. Most if not all of their 3 wishes are for others. Heartbreaking when compared to the supreme selfishness of billionaires who could actually make the world better.

I only wish I had the capability to build housing to end homelessness. Your documentary about Finland showed that homelessness can be solved. It's a vicious cycle of homelessness to joblessness. You need a home to have a job, to pay for the home. Most people in the US are only a few paychecks from homelessness, so they should understand how quickly and easily they too could be out on the streets. And I'm one of those people who are struggling to keep a roof over my head. Affordable housing should be a right. I'm not talking about a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. I'm talking about anything with a solid roof, four walls, and a door with a lock. Some place that anyone can feel safe, stay warm, and sleep with both eyes closed. It's so sickening that a country with so much wealth, like the US, has so many homeless. We have so many abandoned buildings that could easily be converted into housing. The US taxpayers have no issue with paying for the President to fly to NOLA for the Superbowl, but completely ignore people that can't even get a good meal! BTW, Airforce 1 costs $177,000 per hour of flight time. That's over 1 million to fly round trip to the Superbowl!

I used to work the overnight and morning shifts of a warming shelter. Your videos have been in alignment with my views on homelessness, but also you have shown me broader knowledge than I had before about the challenges that people are facing and what is going on in camps and how governments make the problem worse by trying to sweep humans off the streets like trash instead of creating real solutions.

It has made me think more about the needs of others (specifically homeless people), and less about myself.

Yes. Great channel, to hear stories from people who don't seem like they're mentally ill or on drugs (or just lazy), more the victims of poor circumstances. I've mentioned this channel to a lot of people.

Yes...realize how easy it is to be denied a safe roof over head. Not much needed to survive...supporr services needed to thrive. Much respect.

Yes, the circumstances by which people become homeless are more varied and complex than I thought

I wish I knew the words to tell you. Please don't stop making this content, at least until there are no more homeless people.

I haven't seen your channel, but my dad exposed us to homeless people, and we would give our time to help. It made me a better, more empathetic person by him teaching us we can't ignore it. I'm glad I had a father who cared.

That homelessness does not happen because of laziness or choice but because of unfavorable circumstances that can occur in anybody's life combined with personal issues such as addiction, divorce, mental illness, lack of coping skills. Most importantly, it can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

You show the human side of it. Not all are drug addicts or drunks. We all have a past and some can not recover as easily as others.

I'm a long time subscriber, almost a decade, about to unsubscribe because of the change of content, please go back to your original content before your new format interviews drop to less than 1k views

Yes and no, I am currently homeless myself, in the Netherlands, without support, but it makes me remember the educated people you've posted about and that helps. (People often seem to think that being educated and being homeless are in contradiction, lol.) I need help getting stable. Would you be willing to share my GoFundMe? I started it a month ago when it became clear that I was on my own. Donations arrived and they helped me through the month, but my goal was not reached and I am still in the exact same situation as where I was when I started this GoFundMe.
