Hey girlies!
This oneās for you! This is a visual representation of breaking free of the chains of patriarchy. Iām reading Florence Givenās book āWomen donāt owe you prettyā and itās giving me LIFE.
The way we are taught to behave and act is so subtle.. so insidiousā¦ so normalized.. so EMBEDDED that we even persuade ourselves sometimes that we are acting of our own accord and desires. Be nice, polite, small, beautiful, sexy (but not too sexy), agreeable, pander to the masculineās insecurities. The āmost important thingā is to be desired by them.
Fuck THAT! Deconstructing it all feels pointy and uncomfortable like this star shape. It rocks the boat. But it also feels so amazing and empowering. It feels like life force electricity finally being able to expand and take up space. But it also affects others and acts as a new example of a way of being. (The rays of connection expanding outward)
Iām just at the start of this deconstruction and Iām learning every day, and seeing icky internalized misogyny in myself, but little by little we can all make small changes!
Iām secretly loving watching men recoil now as I take up more space in a way thatās ānot attractiveā to them, mwaahahhahaha š
