Just a channel monitoring the sky and wind with very short clips. Like to have memories and to pinpoint what storm hit what day.

Nob 3, 2025 - The first strong storm of the 2025/2026 rain season in California is arriving tomorrow night prompting a wind advisory for the Sacramento Valley and Bay Area and Foothills. A storm still early for this time of year will be capable of gusts up to 50mph out the SSE while trees are STILL full of leaves and barely have turned color. Normally, we don't expect 50mph winds until mid Dec. Early Nov we usually be in the 30mph range with that increasing to 40mph by late Nov but we already getting a 50mph. We will see how this storm system plays out for this early in the season if it really will be as strong but will be interesting to see if it does. I wonder would this mean we are in for strong winter time storms than average.

One thing about living in my area of the Sacramento Valley on the eastern side, SSE winds tend to perform at predicted strength or stronger than predicted strength. Their were numerous of times SSE was forecasted a strength and easily was at least 5 to 10 mph stronger than the predicted strength and stronger than the central and western sides of the valley but there were times to when these storms didn't gether the predicted strength to have strong winds also. But SSE winds usually are the strongest in my area.

9/25/2025 3am. Random WNW then NW Winds Windy to Gusty outflow pushed through despite no thunderstorm sup north and NW Winds immediately shift SE still Gusty in 360 degree flip in direction. Little NE Winds at the end also.

Some lightning to the east too. Possibly a dead rotating thunderstorm column went over my area prompted the Windy NW and 360 degree flip SE after it passed through. Note I did cut the videos in between the shift but the wind did shift directions within seconds.

Sep 2, 2025 - 6:34am, Thunderstorm finally hit my area early this morning. BUT the strong part of the storm split before coming to my area resulting in very infrequent lightning and then after passing my area, developed back into a strong thunderstorm... I'll take it though because it's better than the usual which is my area always totally being missed by thunderstorms. I'll take the very infrequent 10 more or less lightning strikes then 0.

The storm was a dry thunderstorm with Outflow SSE to SE Winds, very infrequent lightning but had good strikes when lightning flashed, & since these are high based storms because they are Altocumulus Clouds where the base of the clouds could be between 13,000 - 20,000 feet, thunder was very faint and can barely be heard unless you were close to a cloud to ground. The Gusty SSE Winds reminded me of winter.

I nicknamed my region of the Greater Sacramento Area the shield or dome as since the 2020 decade started, it seems to have been a trend of thunderstorm avoiding or dying before reaching my area every single time one rolls through. Either it would collapse in the center and split 100 percent missing my area or it would just be completely due all together resulting in no nearby storm. And it's only my area as when there are chances of thunderstorms the same areas and nearby towns and cities get hit but not my area. It seems my area only gets hit when there is a strong sustainable thunderstorm that even when it splits, it still is able to produce lightning and then come over my area but surrounding cities would get the strong portion.

One of the biggest Monsoon thunderstorm outbreak events that I can remember to ever hit California today August 27, 2025. Lots of lighting all over California from Northern to Southern.

This was a rare event for the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valley to have a Monsoon Flow with this intensity.
