Nob 3, 2025 - The first strong storm of the 2025/2026 rain season in California is arriving tomorrow night prompting a wind advisory for the Sacramento Valley and Bay Area and Foothills. A storm still early for this time of year will be capable of gusts up to 50mph out the SSE while trees are STILL full of leaves and barely have turned color. Normally, we don't expect 50mph winds until mid Dec. Early Nov we usually be in the 30mph range with that increasing to 40mph by late Nov but we already getting a 50mph. We will see how this storm system plays out for this early in the season if it really will be as strong but will be interesting to see if it does. I wonder would this mean we are in for strong winter time storms than average.

One thing about living in my area of the Sacramento Valley on the eastern side, SSE winds tend to perform at predicted strength or stronger than predicted strength. Their were numerous of times SSE was forecasted a strength and easily was at least 5 to 10 mph stronger than the predicted strength and stronger than the central and western sides of the valley but there were times to when these storms didn't gether the predicted strength to have strong winds also. But SSE winds usually are the strongest in my area.
