People have told me over and over again that my music “sounds like falling in love.” They say listening to my music makes them feel loved and inspired and like they can be completely accepted for who they are.

And that is crazy to me! I spent most of my life up until these last few years feeling deeply flawed, fundamentally unlovable, and secretly very depressed. And now * my * music makes people feel loved and whole and happy and accepted?

I started out belting Billie Holiday tunes a cappella on the streets of Pike Place Market in Seattle for pocket change. Since then, I've performed on NPR, recorded a commercial for Target, moved to Austin, won some songwriting contests, had several songs placed in movies/TV, garnered an endorsement deal with Fishman Amps, and toured the country playing over 700 shows. I've just finished recording my next record with producer Eric Rosse (breakthrough records for Sara Barielles, Tori Amos, Anna Nalick, Birdy, Mary Lambert, and A Fine Frenzy).
