Very few cases in recent years have aroused suspicions of corruption, as did the
case of missing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway, who disappeared while in
the company of three Aruban boys in the early hours of May 30, 2005. The strange actions of the Aruba Police Department and Chief Prosecutors office in the first 10 days of the investigation have left unexplainable questions as to their actions in the case.
Two security guards were arrested seven days after Natalee`s disappearance upon the false testimony of Joran van der Sloot, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. Instead of arresting the three main suspects when it was disclosed they had lied, Chief Prosecutor Karin Jansen and Police Commissioner Jan van der Straten refused to arrest the trio, allowing them time to dispose of any evidence in the case and develop their alibi for the night of may 30 . .
