Charities and influencers are وكلاء (representatives) of our money according to the Shariah. They are not the possessors of our wealth once we donate. If any organisation or its representatives lack complete transparency, they are not fit or qualified to handle the amanah of the Ummah.

It is not his personal money, and it does not belong to him, so show us exactly how the funds are being managed.

Yes, we should have good opinions of others; that is the general principle الأصل However, as ʿUmar رضي الله عنه said:
حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ مِنْهُ مَا يَغْلِبُكَ Until something comes from him that overcomes you. We are not a religion that allows people to walk over one another by abusing husn al-dhan as a monopoly “get out of jail free card.” The scholars have mentioned that, at times, due to the nature and seriousness of an issue, a person may need to adopt a more cautious perspective. There is no contradiction between this and the general principle of husn al-dhan.
O you who believe! Avoid many suspicions; indeed, some suspicions are sinful. The general rule is to avoid suspicion. However, when something arises due to indications and circumstantial evidence, then investigating and seeking clarification can be completely permissible. This is not slander or making accusations; rather, seeking transparency and clarification is not blameworthy.
Ibn Hazm mentioned:
وأما سوء الظن فيعده قوم عيباً على الإطلاق وليس كذلك
As for having a bad opinion/suspicion, some people consider it a fault in all circumstances, but this is not the case.
The distinction being made is between unjustified suspicion and cautious judgement and discernment. Islam does not require a person to be naive when circumstantial evidence is mounting and indications become compelling. Rather, it requires us to investigate, ask relevant questions, and seek full transparency and understanding of the situation. Do not allow people to discourage you from asking legitimate questions. They may respond with accusations and insults, but remain firm. We will not cede an inch when it comes to accountability and ensuring integrity.
