Bow Sim Mark | CWRI

Official channel of Grandmaster Bow Sim Mark and the Chinese Wushu Research Institute (CWRI).

Widely recognized as the "Mother of American Wushu," Bow Sim Mark is a pioneering martial artist, teacher, and cultural icon— named among the most influential martial artists of the 20th century, and a foundational figure in bringing Tai Chi and internal martial arts to the West.

This channel preserves her legacy through archival footage, interviews, and the voices of those who trained under her.

Since 1976, she has taught Tai Chi, Pa-Kua, Hsing-Yi, and Wudang sword in Boston through CWRI—one of the first Chinese Wushu schools established in the West by a female master.

Her influence extends across generations, including her son, global action star Donnie Yen. The preservation of her archive and the CWRI Legacy Stories series are stewarded and produced by her daughter, Chris Yen.
